Think of it this way. Todd Graves is worth $22 billion. If LSU gets in a bind and needs, say, $22 million, that is 0.1% of Graves' net worth.

Whether he gives the $22 million or not, LSU can operate aggressively in the market knowing they have plenty of financial backing if stuff goes sideways. Not just from Graves, but Spaht, Flores, Gordon, etc.

My buddy at A&M says it's the same thing over there and I'm sure it's similar at all of the major CFB programs.

BTW, setting the B10 aside, Georgia is the perfect LSU "cousin".

No rational person would ever think this

LSU doesn't have a perfect B10 comp, but OSU is the closest. If you are 55 years old or younger, you've seen Ohio St. and LSU win the same number of natties (3 each). To me, that supersedes any comparison with programs like Wisconsin that have 0.

Michigan and USC have won more natties than OSU so to me they're at a higher level historically.

You could make a case for Penn St. or Washington, but I can't ignore no titles since 1986 and 1991 respectively.

Big-picture wise, Dartmouth is a lot higher in the food chain than you probably think.

There's high-end D1, low-end D1, D2, D3, NAIA, NCCAA, NJCAA...

There are HBCU's in the NAIA that would get 10-run ruled by a decent HS team.

Only 3 programs have won 3+ natties since 2000 (Bama, LSU, Ohio St.)
Only 7 programs have won 2+ natties since 2000 and 1+ natties before 2000 (Bama, LSU, Ohio St., Georgia, Michigan, Florida, Clemson)
