I'm no expert but it's my understanding that spiders are harder to kill due to their long legs. Basically they walk above the poison and they don't groom themselves with their legs like other insects. I don't think Talstar is ideal for spiders from what I've read but I suppose it may work. Let us know the results.

Some people just have to learn the hard way. That young guy is asking for it.

Harbor Freight has some cheap nail guns if you don't want to spend alot. Will probably work for a one time fence job.

You don’t understand Rocket Mortgage’s business.

My response was in general concerning how escrow works or it's purpose. It is there to protect the collateral by insuring taxes and insurance get paid so the lender doesn't lose out on the money they loaned you.

quote:

I'm not completely sure how this mortgage/escrow thing works but every mortgage I ever had, held tax and insurance in escrow. I've not had one miss.

Your house/condo etc is the collateral for the loan/mortgage you took out. They escrow your taxes and insurance to make sure they get paid so someone doesn't buy your taxes and take their "collateral" or the place doesn't burn down with no insurance and then there is no collateral left. Like someone else posted, escrow is usually mandatory unless you are putting down a chunk because the lender is wanting to make sure the "collateral" is secure until you pay it off.
The mortgage company has a vested interest in making sure your taxes get paid or they risk losing the collateral that their mortage secures. You'd think they would be more diligent about it. We can check our taxes online here so not sure about where you live but I'd make it a habit of going online or calling each year to make sure they got paid or whatever works for you.
I can see where it would be considered a time to give up something that causes you to sin or that interferes in your walk with Christ but only if you intend to continue on with it. If it is something that on day 41 you dive right back in then it makes no sense to me. But it is quite comical some of the things that people give up or the reason they do it.

For participating in lent?

Jesus said to them, “Truly I tell you, the tax collectors and the prostitutes are entering the kingdom of God ahead of you.
Matthew 21:31
For those that do participate in lent, I'm curious as to what you get out of it? I understand what it is, I am just asking on a more personal level. What does it do for you personally or what do you hope to obtain from it?

Serious question, not judging.

That doesn't say what you think it says.

Wrong. It says exactly what it says. No one is justified before God by keeping the law (doing good deeds).

quote:

however the bible also says that faith without works is dead.

You are referring to the Book of James. This is talking about faith without works is not profitable to men. We are justified before God by faith, but since man can't see our faith, we are justified by our works before other men so that they can see Christ in us and hopefully come to faith.

quote:

HOWEVER the question was what you would say. And to this there is no wrong answer, because the answer would always be true, it's what the person is saying they would say. Because we were asked, What would you tell the dying man?, not what do you consider the best thing to say.

I was replying to the poster that said he would bring up the man's good deeds to him in his last 60 seconds. I was emphasizing that doing this would not do him any good.
quote:

That faith without works is dead; so lets remember the good you have done.

Galatians 2:16

16 know that a person is not justified by the works of the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law, because by the works of the law no one will be justified.
quote:

Accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and repent

What do you mean by repent? Are you suggesting he stop sinning in his last 60 seconds?

He repents when he changes his mind from some of the stuff mentioned in this thread (baptism, good works, etc.) to believing on Jesus and him alone for salvation.
Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved!

This is the best my yard has ever looked while dormant.

Last year was the first time I had ever done the fall preemergent. Right now I have barely any "green" weeds popping up. Yard is just brown. Lol.

I put out my dimension yesterday and I got .6 inches of rain last night. I hope that was enough.

60s is your 5-day average?

according to greencast is was 53 on the 8th and had been in the 50's for a while and then jumped to 65 on the 9th and has been in the low to mid 60's the past 4 days. I'm putting dimension out tomorrow. Supposed to start raining tomorrow night and then rain all day sunday.
Nothing grinds my gears more than some chowderhead who can't keep his big trap shut.

I was going to do the preemergent treatment this weekend before a big rain that's moving in. But my soil temps are already in the 60's. Am I too late or will it still help some? Also thought about trying a split treatment this year instead of all at once.
