no kid wants to waste their HS playing days sitting on the bench at a bigger school when they could be starting at a smaller school

From my experience this is exactly what most kids do. If they are a good enough athlete then they will typically play another position.

Others when cut or don't become starters wash out of the program but find other opportunities in other sports and or clubs.

From my experience, albeit a small data set, very few kids leave the school because they can't compete. Typically, they know this and go to a different school before entering High School.

I can't speak for ROTC but West Point cadets are considered active-duty service members and are fully subject to the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ) 24/7. They can face courts-martial, honor code investigations, and misconduct hearings for violations. While subject to UCMJ, they do not receive Article 15 non-judicial punishment but face unique disciplinary measures.

To be fair, it's up to the King William? county district attorney to press criminal charges. I don't think West Point can do that.

As a member of the Armed Services he is subject to UCMJ. Hence the judge in this matter was COL Trevor Barna

I got a link from a girl scouts’s dad and had the cookies delivered to me by some delivery service. Wondering how this teaches the girls anything.

I completely agree; I typically have the GS call and give a sales pitch before I place the order. Made my girls do the same with friends and family.

For my office I found out who wanted cookies and then had my daughter come to the office and sell only to the individuals who said they were interested.

I agree with you about Skip especially since when he first arrived the stadium was primarily GA seating and you could get a family book of tix for the season for around $20.

However, your comments about the "old box" doesn't make any sense since the new box was opened almost a decade after he retired.
Kids that young try Disneyland. If you during the offseason the park isn't crowded at all. Plus you can stay at the onsite hotel and walk to the park that is literally right across the street from the park.

It was the opposite. It ended the cold war and the view of Russia as a super power. In turn we basically focussed all of our attention domestically which put the progressive movement on steroids!

30 years later here we are.

Gilmore had a lot of horrible dialogue. The daughter had the typical know it all attitude and acted like the parent.

And the mom was constantly whining! I used to cringe when daughters would watch that shite!

Seems to me if you're taking money from a law firm for the sole reason of playing football, then it might be a gnat's hair difference, if that, than taking prize money.

Money from law firm is NIL which is where this mess started.

Despite our opinions endorsement deals are separate from professional compensation which is what the prize money is considered. This is like Tiger woods going back to Stanford to finish out his eligibility after his first year on the PGA Tour!

At this point its obvious the NCAA has given up and is waiting for the inevitable government to step in and fix it!

This seems like it’s not that big of a deal, especially in track. Olympic athletes go back to compete in college all the time

It's that whole left college to go Pro thing is why this is ridiculous!

In my opinion the NIL deal with ASICS isn't the deal breaker but instead he competed as a pro where he was paid outside of endorsement deals. In my opinion this where he loses his amateur status.

HA!

I wanted to have my day in court but got busy at work and decided it wasn't worth it and figured the judge wouldn't have heard a word I said before siding with the POS cop.

When I got married a year or so later, I went and paid the $20 fine because I had an image in my head that I could get arrested at the airport if they had a bench warrant out for my arrest!
I don't know the best way, but I can tell how not to do it which is at the dinner table while eating dinner!

My advice is get your wife to tell them b/c she will likely be more empathetic than you. You can just be there to hug them afterwards.

Just be glad you got your ticket while actually not wearing a seatbelt.

I got pulled over in a pick up truck 20 years ago in AP. Cop over the loud speaker tells me get my license and registration. I take my seatbelt off to reach the glove box to find insurance snd registration. A few minutes later he walks up a tells me he pulled me over on a seat belt violation. I explained that I took it off to get my paperwork per his instructions. After a little back and forth, I asked him what made him think I wasn't wearing my seat belt in the first place. He mentioned he saw the clasp shining in the sunlight as I drove by. I looked back and pointed out to him the clasp was 6 in below the window and it was impossible for him to see that. He made up some other BS excuse while giving me a ticket.

20 years later I still hope that MF dies a slow painful death and rots in hell for eternity!

My daughter is in an architecture program now. While AI will help with it in the future, I don’t believe jobs like that will ever not have humans.

In my opinion this is going to be the case with most professions. AI will be a disruptive technology that will stunt job growth in the short run but in the long run it will create new opportunities and career paths.

In LA they join the environmental engineers and environmental scientist filling out permit applications, environmental reports, and of course the OTs favorite topic, NEPA Studies!

Yep did a three week independent study on this at USACE in college.

One of negatives that he failed to mention is that if MS River was allowed take over the Atchafalaya it would eventually rise and wipe out Morgan City and the other coastal communities along the Atchafalaya. There's more to it than just protecting BR and NO.

That's cuz this guy isn't concerned about long term growth of the sport. He's worried about building a team for his kid for a few years. If the sport gets destroyed so be it. Not his problem.

Yeah I'm not too concerned about that; it was the constant name calling that was driving me nuts.

In my humble opinion all you have to do is look at college athletics right now to see how bad of an idea open transfer could be.

I personally like the idea of losing one year eligibility for transferring. It forces the transferee to have "skin in the game" as well. Honestly, I wish college would go back to this rule but now that the courts have essentially castrated the NCAA at every turn there is no way they can walk it back. Unless, they bring back high academic standards!

Except you come across as one for not being able to accept that other people have opinions other than yours without calling them retarded.

The only retarded ones in this conversation are the parents taking their kids from a high performing academic school to another school because their kid was cut or is sitting behind someone else. This is the coward's way out and the epitome of taking your ball and going home when things don't go your way.

I say this as the parent of a current student athlete and a former student athlete whose dream of being a star baseball player was cut short by a much more talented player. The other player became one of my best friends and went on to win two CWS rings. I may not have become the star baseball player that I once dreamed of but it forced me to put my focus in other sports which in the long run was the best thing that ever happened to me.
