We just traded Double A pitcher Wilmy Sanchez to the Yankees for Aggie Braden Shewmake, an infielder.

Shewmake was a 2019 first-round pick of the Braves, Dana’s former employer. Do with that what you will.

Congrats!

And there's no help at Sugarland. All that's down there are more Colton Gordons and Shay Whitcombs.

And, of course, Whitcomb hits a 3-run HR. Bring on the ridicule.
They punted on this year with CBA expiring and the contracts of Brown and Espada expiring.

This pitching staff is not even competitive.
If he wanted to argue Giolito would be too expensive, then say that. But pointing to "he might not be effective" is idiotic. This pitching staff is a typical Coors Field staff right now, and that might be underselling how bad they are.

Well, with that logic, why ever make a roster move? Why field a team?

Well duh if he can pinch hit he can start at least he put him in in the likely highest leverage at bat of the game.

I don't mind the pinch-hit there. Just don't like the decision to start Nick Allen, and that overshadows the PH decision.

It's all moot because Bryan Abreu is unusable.
Meh. If you're gonna pinch-hit for someone in the fourth inning, maybe he shouldn't be starting. Especially if the starter's name is Nick Allen. Another dumb pre-game Espada move.

frick man. Find the dummy willing to over pay for this soft hitting fat sack of shite

I will give you this one. Paredes has been a disappointment this year.
Like that time we went something like 2-7 or 1-8 in September some time in the last few years against the poo poo platter of A’s and Royals in the span of 10 days.

We might be back?

This shitty team with no pitching staff has won its last 7 home games.

We could still lose. This guy can walk in a run. I have that much confidence in our pitching!

I felt the same. Glad I was wrong.
Gonna be a long season when you're white knuckling to beat the Rockies for the first time in four tries.
This pitching staff is incapable of posting a clean inning.
God, the Rockies are terrible. Embarrassing we got swept by them in Denver.

What is Brice in the lineup?

GM's first draft pick.
Brown's contract is up at the end of the season. It would be stunning if he's back. Seems like Crane punted on this year knowing the lockout is coming up with a GM and manager on the last year of their deals.
Closest LSU came was the first game - the 1983 Orange Bowl. LSU had a 17-7 lead in the third quarter.

LSU was outmanned in the other two games in the Sugar Bowl.
Eleven hits before making it to 80 pitches. Quite economical. At least he hasn’t walked anyone yet.

ETA: He made it through 5. What a miracle.
He's a Sacramento King. They don't do playoffs.
Damn, that sucks. What an absolutely shitty week this has been for Astros fans. RIP, Scrap Iron.
