The entire fight to get UL to add the laffy part to its name was ridiculous in my opinion.

Just another example of Louisiana politics in action.

Coming from PA, we have both penn state and university of penn. We can easily tell the two apart, and one school does not mind that the other school has the name.

Once again, the politicians with degrees from LSU seem to believe that allowing ULL to be called UL will somehow cheapen the reputation of LSU.

In the engineering community an engineering degree from LSU and La Tech are looked upon more highly than other LA Universities.

Check your facts. La. Tech and ULL are ranked in the same category (no rank) and LSU is ranked 90 out of 198 engineering schools.

In fact, LSU (excluding the sports programs)is more comparable to ULL than it is to UT or Texas A&M.

Your assumption is wrong. Dallas and its suburbs are full of highly compensated employees with net worths no where near $1 million (especially since many of these individuals had a bunch of money tied up in homes that have now lost a lot of value).

The American public needs to stop focusing its collective hatred on used car salesmen and ambulance chasers. Some of that hatred needs to be focused on the hedge fund managers.

Perhaps Guidicous Newyorkus and Guidicous Philiadelphiacus should be their true scientific name. I would need to evaluate the New York Guido before I was willing to agree that they are in fact different species.

They are similar. While attending law school in Philly, my best friends were Guidos. Since I married a Guidette from Brooklyn, I can verify that there are more similarities than differences between the two.
