I'd hire a surveyor and reach back out to your title attorney that helped close on the property. The title attorney owes you some free time if this wasn't captured during closing. Have your surveyor set iron at property corners and servitude/easement limits. Takes lots of pictures. Get a signed and sealed survey. Then go find an attorney to negotiate with hotel.
I wouldn't take anything less than the right of access and an annual rental rate for use of your property. Or Access + Settlement.

I'd rather learn that lesson in Ukraine and or Iran than on US soil. I'll allow the learning curve.

I had a long talk with this 20 something kid a couple years back who spoke about the history of drug culture and raves in late 90s and early 2000s like it was this amazing stepping stone in the History of the USA. I kept telling him things about his thoughts that were wrong but he insisted he studied it in depth and had 'all the historical facts'. Finally i told him bro I was at the State Palace numerous times and while it was fun it wasn't about changing the world and what he thought it was about.
Finally just told him it was a good conversation and left. What you don't know you don't know I suppose. We just didn't care and the girls were hot...that was it. Simple as that. Fun tho

K&G if i need a one time color to match the wifes dress. Brooks Brothers if I want a nice general use tie
Eating dinner alone is something I miss more than I expected. These days I try to sneak out for a solo lunch once a week just to get a little of that back.
In college I used to study at Kyoto on College Dr. I’d sit in the corner with a big Sapporo, my schoolwork spread out, and they’d bring me a couple pieces of sushi every 15-20 minutes. It was nice.
it’s just a lot harder to pull off now with a wife and three kids.

This thread triggered a childhood memory i had forgotten about. We used to put magic shell in ice trays, then spoon in nutty peanut butter, and then cover it with more magic shell and stick it in the freezer a few minutes.
Those were the best "reeses" ever because we had an endless supply. Completely forgot about that. Good memories.

re: Data centers are already obsolete

The facilities will house whatever the next technology is. If the chips become that much more efficient then the computing power will be that much more efficient. Its all about establishing the backbone of the worlds data think tank. That processing power will be in the USA. Should quantum computing begin to attain 100,000 quibit processing power then even better for these data center facilities.
The Data centers aren't stopping. There will be main hubs, regional hubs, and local hubs. Just like Upstream, Midstream, downstream gas. Just like electrical power plants, substations, and boosters for distribution.
Data centers are happening and won't stop. Either buy stocks in it or bitch about it. No one cares what you do.

Snow skiing... :pimp:
Its 2026. The real spring break is now on snow slopes. Give us Breckenridge, no theft, and fresh powder. Leave the beach for the poors and florida to deal with.... MTV
re: Are these AI courses legit?
Posted by mthorn2 on 3/17/26 at 11:15 am to prplhze2000
I took the LSU course 2 years ago and it was highly beneficial as someone who knew very little about AI and prompting; however, I'm pretty sure I would have figured it all out over the last 2 years anyway. It was a crash course and I learned a lot about how AI works, its limitations, prompting strategy, how to do business plans, strategy think tank usage, and etc. Worth it since my company paid for it and has really paid for itself workflow wise. I use AI multiple times a day.

re: What year did you stop writing checks and balancing your checkbook?
Posted by mthorn2 on 3/6/26 at 8:25 am to PelicanState87
Ive had the same book of checks since 2003. The address on the checks was like 10 places ago....lol. But they work every 2 or 3 years I actually need to write a check.
Never balanced a check book before though, we always had some level of digital access.

i wouldn't have been so nice if i got it pinned down like that. That guy obviously cares to much about about pitbulls... i was attacked by a rottweiller once that latched onto my left hand but after i broke its front leg it let go and went away. Took two surgeries to fix the ligaments in that hand. If i had a pocket knife that day it would have been a dead dog.
re: Did you or your kids have a huge growth spurt or was it more gradual?
Posted by mthorn2 on 2/25/26 at 8:28 pm to StringedInstruments
I was 6' by end of 8th grade and never grew again. My buddy graduated high school 5'-10" and by time he graduated college was 6'-2".
Hard to predict when that growth spurt is going to hit. Genetics are a complicated bunch.

They were a nuisance and parents should be ashamed of themselves for bringing their babies into public.....until i had kids and I decided i was the idiot before kids.

GMFS is the armpit of society. Absolute worst company in existence. The only one close to them in relationship is ENRON and maybe Puff Daddy.
re: Who would you co-sign a car for
Posted by mthorn2 on 2/13/26 at 10:42 am to dyslexiateechur
Absolutely No One. Not even my kids. However i am setting my kids up for success. I take small unsecure loans out as the cosigner for my kids and then I pay it back just to set them up with great credit scores. So when they do decide to make a vehicle or home purchase they have legit substance anchored to their credit score.
I take $3,000 unsecure loans and put it in the stock market and just make the monthly payments over 2-3 years. By time i pay it off the interest gained in the market offsets the interest of the loan. Normally a wash but even if its not, its building their credit score up. Win win.
But I'd never cosign on a major expense. Bad business.
