background checks

I was speaking to manufacturers shipping not "face to face".
I suppose the burden of background checks will be placed on the seller. Probably upload your license?

You currently have to go through an FFL to ship firearms. This memo issued by the federal government says that is against the second amendment and cites a number of scenarios that support this. They say those previous rules are unenforceable, so the USPS should allow people and manufacturers to ship guns through USPS now.

Basically abolishes the need for FFL and permits shipping through regular mail.

There are some other intricacies in the federal memo that support second amendment rights, such as being able to have a gun for personal and community defense, but those are too deep for Cliffs.

and give Democrats and the ICE haters photos of US troops pointing guns at White Americans instead of the Somalians DHS is rounding up. that will work great for Midterms

Democrats and ICE haters aren't voting for Republicans anyway.
That is a fair take. I'm with you. I hope the measures that have been implemented extinguish the invasion.
I feel for you guys. I'm in Texas and our roads are amazing works of art.

I do work in Alexandria, LA frequently. The 165/71 construction is bullshite. I hate it so much and it is taking so long to complete.
H1B trouble

Possibly thousands. Not enough yet, but will have an increased affect.
There are no deals being made. The Ayatollah could get on a plane at any point and go where he wants with his family. He runs the country.

If Iranian forces are killing people, he is still in control and able to do as he wishes.
That is an accurate assessment of the situation. We just don't know, but the question is do we want what Iran is, or do we choose to reroll the dice and see if we can do better.

ETA: the opportunity to do this rarely comes. We have the chance to influence this while sentiment is in our favor.

They've done nothing of substance to stop the h1b abuse.

That is false.

Trump has installed a 100k fee for new H1B visas.

Trump ended the procedure of going out of country (Mexico) to renew your visa and instead said you have to go back to your HOME country.

Trump then cancelled all renewal interviews for at least 6 months. That means people who travelled out of the country to renew were stuck in their home country to renew.

H1B rules state that you have to reside within 100 miles of your place of work or your permit is cancelled.

This means that employers must have an office in India ( or other home countries) in order for them to continue being employed.

If they don't, then the visa is cancelled and requires the new 100k fee to reinstate.
The crazy thing is all of the Somalians at the airport got a TWIC card to operate in the airport.
The desire to do something for the Iranian people likely lies in our own desires for corrupt government that doesn't represent the will of its people to be overthrown. It has been long delayed here, so if we have the power to aid in that for another oppressed nation, it would be a sense of the world moving towards freedom.
Renewables are still going forward, but they are on a ticking clock. I think our professions may overlap. There is a hurry up to get them initiated. Solar and wind companies know time is limited. Smaller companies are going bankrupt already. We have outstanding invoices for a few of them
I have an American made AK from palmetto State armory. Using commie rounds in an American gun just feels right
Assume 75 percent of politicians were on that list. What are you going to do about it?

We already agree most politicians are shite.

Do you have crazy money to make a change happen? Are you going to finance grassroots people in every state to change it? No.

Elon Musk does, but we don't.
Chicken is doing just fine selling ad space to people who have the disposable dollars to buy products.

This board has a lot of Fox News boomers who now think guys like Mark Levin are MAGA stalwarts

Luckily, nothing we say or read here has ever influenced anything. Really though, forums are only populated by the older generations. Kids (30 years or younger) don't come here or any forums for that matter.

So you can expect this forum to be boomers, Gen x and some millennials.
This is 3 dudes who don't want to be on her show. You guys are blowing this WAY out of proportion.
Oh! You don't have guns? Go get them from this house flying an American flag that does! Lol

The only thing you are going to get from that house is lead dug out of your chest. If you live long enough, you may be able to crawl toward a casing. With those two ingredients you can do Jack shite.
Invest in Battery energy storage systems (BESS) now. Stores energy during non peak hours for use during peak hours.

I'm not sure what else Trump can do to solve this problem. Data centers are going to use energy and water to cool their systems. Most of the data centers I have been involved with are using treated sewage water to cool their systems, so that is cool.

Also, most data centers are being constructed adjacent to power generation facilities or nearby substations, so they aren't really using the "grid", just leaching off of the facilities before they distribute.

The cost of electricity is concerning, and maybe higher demand dictates rising pricing. He definitely needs to address that and make the companies who are putting in data centers provide some sort of financial relief to those impacted by the power consumption.
