OP left out the pineapple in the story.

This one really sucks, he was a great guy. I was friends with his son growing up and every Wednesday night was poker night at the Garner house. We were high school kids who’d bring boxes of quarters and our best Swisher Sweets and act like adults for a few hours. He kept his replica World Series trophy from the Pirates on a random chair around the pool table.

One of my favorite memories was while visiting family in Baltimore my uncle got us tickets to the Brewers Orioles game and had no idea I knew Mr Garner. I went to the bathroom between innings and on my way back I walked down by the dugout and Phil was standing out front so I yelled to him and he told me to come back after the game and he’d get us down in the clubhouse.

So after the game we went to leave and I told my uncle we should go down to the clubhouse instead. I found Phil and he had a team official take us to a private elevator where Bob Ueker was waiting. We hopped on and went and hung out with all the Brewers players and the whole time my uncle was just wide eyed looking around like what the frick is going on.

Rip P Gar. A true legend.

Great story. Memories that will last you a lifetime.

I'm a born and bred Royals fan. However, I lived in Houston for several years, so went to many 'Stros games while Garner was manager.

He seemed like a great guy. RIP, "Scrap Iron".
Trust the science. You can't beat it. But, you should try.
It will be the 4 teams that win in the Elite 8. That's what you call the Hungarian nuts.

You can bookmark THE HELL outta that.
Wtf does that have to do with the 3003 NBA Finals?

Crazy idea. When the hitting pitcher comes to the plate, the opposing manager must send a position player to the mound and HIS pitcher goes to the field. Basically a switch.

When the hitting pitcher's AB is completed, the opposing manager switches his position player and pitcher back to their normal spots.

Before some cocksucker says that's the dumbest thing they've ever heard, just consider the recent rule of ghost runner in extra innings and then go frick yourself.

Tell me you didn't watch the 3003 Finals without telling me. Duncan won that championship by himself pretty much.

I love Kobe. As a Spurs fan he owned us multiple times in the playoffs. I'd take him anytime over Lebron. But Duncan is the best player at his position ever and a pretty unarguable top-10 player of all time.

Fine. I did NOT watch the 3003 Finals. Guess what? You haven't either.

??
Davey Lopes had a nice, long career. Noticed he didn't get to the bigs till he was 27. Then played till he was 42.

Definitely in the Baseball Hall of Great Mustaches.

RIP.
Well, the old NES is up and running. Installed a Nin10Drawer unit as a replacement for the 72-pin board. It's like butter.

Upgraded to wireless controllers. No lag.

Upgraded to a dual mono RCA/composite cable running to an AV/HDMI adapter into a 2003-ish Samsung LCD 48"-ish free TV my brother passed on to me.

Works like a dream and looks better than 1985. Mike Tyson is going DOWN.
1990 Loyola Marymount

1990 UNLV
Trump may take the opportunity to pivot and hit Iran where they aren't expecting. I'm sure they have a contingency plan.
So, I guess you can take 3 obvious steps on a lay-up now.
As a diehard, lifelong Royals fan, that's a weak class. Posey and no one else. Not even Wade Davis. Not even close.

Time flies. Surprised several players have even been retired 5 years.

I couldn't tell you 2nd best player on that list.

ETA: without any extra research, I'd put Jon Lester as a distant 2nd.
When the power goes out, those remaining in the regime will need to fear what lies in the night.

Civilians without food and clean water will get their pound of flesh. They will have nothing left to lose.

I personally saw what happens in a natural disaster just 24 hours without resources and none in the foreseeable future. Humans devolve QUICKLY.
Fundamentals are terrible. So many uncalled traveling, double-dribble, and carrying violations.
Michigan up 30. Good grief.

Glad to see AZ getting whooped.
I just recently bought a used, original NES from a local game store. It was guaranteed for 30 days and was supposed to be tested prior to sale. They didn't test it in front of me and I completely forgot to ask. The whole idea of it was kinda sperm-of-the-moment. Picked it up on a Saturday after work.

Got home. It doesn't work. Flashing red light. But, of course. Sigh. Packed it up and was going to take it back. Then I thought, why not refurbish it myself? I tinker on occasion, but DEFINITELY NOT an electronics guy. Maybe I'll learn some things as a side benefit.

Spent the rest of that weekend and this past week watching YouTube cleaning/restoration/modding videos. Ordered some parts, tools, and supplies. Still waiting on some stuff.

Point being, I miss the old days. Being good all year and getting that Atari, NES, and SNES consoles for Christmas. Spending time arguing on who plays next with my lil brother. Then dutifully taking turns or duking it out in 2P mode.

I did as most and graduated to Playstations and Xboxes. I saw thru the years that things seemed to steer away from actually providing FUN to being an obvious money-grab. I get it. They are companies that have to make a profit. But, all of these in-game transactions, DLCs, downloads, etc etc just got old.

I wanna buy a game that I can go home, pop in the console, and PLAY.

So, I'm going to fix a console that will allow me to do so. I want to own my fun.

What was the question?
