Have a great day.
You too.
You make a decent argument for the Truth of the Doctrine of Eternal Security.
I know that some Christians reject this Doctrine and I invite them to chime in and help us understand why they reject your belief. Through this dialogue, I hope that ya'll can agree on what the Bible clearly states with regard to our Salvation.

Our job is not to convince anyone of anything.
I completely agree that our approach here on the Religion Board should NOT be to "convince anyone of anything". What I think is best for the Religion Board is for us to explain and present support for various explanations and understandings. Once people have a fully informed basis on which to see things clearly, most will be able to find their way. I see the Religion Board more of a "Sharing of Ideas and Understandings" place than a place to preach or convince somebody.
We've got to realize that people of all beliefs and non beliefs come here. They will feel more comfortable if they see this as a place of sharing ideas and understanding. If they see the Religion Board as a place where people are going to attack them for their belief or non belief, then they won't come here often.

What do you think of the Doctrine of Eternal Security?
What do you think of the Doctrine of Eternal Security?
Thanks very much for your thoughtful response. It makes total sense to me.
If a Methodist or Lutheran cites a Bible passage that cuts against the Doctrine of Eternal Security, and my goal is to argue in defense of the Doctrine, then your advice to me is to explain to them how they are taking the particular Bible verse out of context and tell them that they are incorrect in their interpretation of the Bible and Bible verse? Is this your guidance?

So to be clear you lied when you said you are going to heaven because of eternal security?
OK, now you're just making up lies to say that I'm lying.
Can we stay on track with our conversation about how do we prove to people that The Doctrine of Eternal Security is absolutely clear from God's Word and that people who reject that Doctrine are absolutely wrong.
How do we convince people to join our side of the conversation? I'm asking you for help here, because the Methodists and Lutherans don't believe us, Brother.
You can't just tell the Methodists and Lutherans that they are wrong because you say they are wrong.
Are there any Bible passages that cut against our argument that the Bible clearly supports the Doctrine of Eternal Security?
Please help.
These are all great Bible quotes. When I have a conversation with all of the many Protestant churches that reject the Doctrine of Eternal Security, I will be sure to cite these passages to them.
Are there any Bible passages at all that cut against the Doctrine of Eternal Security? Methodists say that there are. What do you say to a Methodist who rejects the Doctrine of Eternal Security?
What do WE say in response to those Christians who reject the Doctrine of Eternal Security? Methodists and Lutherans reject the Doctrine of Eternal Security, which confuses me, because, as you say, this Doctrine is clearly proven by the Holy Bible itself.

You say that the Doctrine of Eternal Security is all throughout Scripture and you cite two passages to prove the Doctrine.
I've read the passages and the words "may" and "should" stand out for me. Neither of these words, in the common usage of the English language, have a meaning with implies absolute certainty. So, I'm not sure why you used these cites to support your argument that Jesus guaranteed to us that all of our sins are already forgiven, past present and future, and that our place in Heaven is guaranteed by Almighty God, no matter what future sins we commit.
I don't think that the Bible passages you cite in any way prove the Doctrine of Eternal Security.
As for what Catholics believe, the website Catholic Answers explain it all better than I can.
Why are you unable to provide solid support for the Doctrine of Eternal Security? I would really benefit if you could provide this support, so I can present the argument in favor of it in future conversations with some religious people who reject this Doctrine of Eternal Security. Heaven only knows why they reject it, since, as you say, it is very clearly proved by all of Scripture.
So, what do I tell them to argue in support of the Doctrine of Eternal Security?

Why do you believe in the doctrine of eternal security and also tell me about your works.
Is that all you have to prove the Doctrine of Eternal Security that you/we believe in?
quote:
may have eternal life
May have?
quote:
that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
Should not?
Is this all there is to establish the Doctrine of Eternal Security which states that all of our Sins are already forgiven, past present and future, no matter what sins we commit in the future, our place in Heaven is guaranteed by Almighty God?
quote:
Because Jesus said it.
Where did Jesus say that? Look, I answered your question. I told that I'm Saved by the Doctrine of Eternal Security.
Where did Jesus proclaim the Doctrine of Eternal Security?
"Leaving due to crime" is just a white racist dog whistle for the REAL reason which is
Apple is Racist.
Apple is Racist.
Why do you believe in the Doctrine of Eternal Security?
quote:
Champagne how are you justified before God? Serious question for you as I've seen you post on here quite often vehemently defending the catholic church. So how are you, Champagne, going to be allowed into heaven when you die?
The answers are all on Catholic Answers.

I would like to answer your question, and I will do so, but I expect you to attempt to refute my argument after I present it to you.
Eternal Security: all of my sins are forgiven, past present and future, because the Bible clearly says that my Faith assures me a place in Heaven. Christ's sacrifice on the Cross means that my past present and future sins, ALL of them, are already forgiven, and nothing can take that Gift from me.
I say to you : That is how I know I'm going to Heaven - the Doctrine of Eternal Security - straight out of the Bible - clearly says so.
Can you refute that?
quote:
Why wouldn't you go straight to the one that actually died for you?
Did it occur to you that Jesus wants us to pray for one another? Did it occur to you that Jesus wants to have helpers to do things like that?
Did Jesus feed the hungry crowd by himself? Did Jesus spread the Gospel by himself? Did Jesus turn the water into wine because it was His idea first, or did He do it because his Mother asked Him to?
Go straight to the one who died for us. Yes, of course. But, he has many helpers, too, and Jesus likes to get his helpers involved.
That's how I see it. But you are free to believe otherwise.
Catholic Answers has the info you're looking for.

Still time to salvage the weekend with a win tomorrow.
Still time to Win.
Ya gotta believe.
Ya gotta believe.
The Government will definitely fight back against this Insurrection.
This is the Religion Board. You should frame your Threat Title towards those who follow the Atlantis Religion, and ask them for the Theological Doctrine of Atlanteans.
I know that there is an Atlanta, but, that's not the same thing, right?
