re: Tonsillectomy advice

Just did this with 3 year old last month. Overall she did well, first 4 days were a bit rough but her appetite was there (I was afraid she would refuse bc of the pain). Each day after was gradually better, by day 7 she was back to her old self. Now sleeping without snoring, not tossing and turning all night, not crabby in the afternoons and actually eating more than she did before the surgery. Overall it was the right decision. It’s a hard decision to make as a parent, especially because it is elective but I’m glad we did it.

Amazon sells some balls with a combo of very potent smells (that are not mothballs) that I think has worked so far. It’s like citrus, spearmint and a few other things. Had one presumably smelled the dogs and has been marking on my patio. Makes me livid that people have them outdoor in a neighborhood.
It’s this proprietary locking mechanism that’s the issue. We had some sort of stone composite but it’s brittle. So humidity changes caused expansion/ contraction of the flooring and cracked the brittle stone composite locking mechanism. You’re right to go for glue down with LVP.
Portsmouth NH was a quaint town. Beautiful part of the country and only about an hour from Boston Logan
Price sees about right. We had LVP that popped up and had to be replaced (long story there is question over whether or not a moisture barrier is needed) and were given the cost of replacement for product and installation for roughly 1800 sq ft and it was $16,500. The rest of our house is tile (4 bathrooms and laundry) so I imagine that would run you the rest.

Glue down is the way to go if you are going with LVP in Louisiana. I’m not sure where you are but it doesn’t do well in humidity. Ours lasted less than a year before popping up. We ended up going with wood look tile and I was super reluctant to do so but we are really happy with the look.

That is my first thought, get this set working properly again. Oldest is graduating in May and if I can keep this set working she can take them to college and we'll end up with a new set.

Easier than I thought … hardest part was taking the freaking top panel off. There is a washing machine designer somewhere laughing at the thought of a P.O.’d do it yourselfer cussing up a storm trying to maneuver in a small space.

Just replaced the inlet valve on my Maytag bravos last weekend … 8 years old. Thought it was time to bite the bullet for the speed queen but that $25 Amazon part may buy me another year
This is a brother in law is guilty situation and I can’t be convinced otherwise. Sister in the last ransom video was a bit twitchy for my liking. She knows what’s up. This is a horrible situation all the way around.

You’re right in my opinion to go straight from the airline and not third party as if there is an itinerary change, you’re a little stuck trying to get a workable replacement (in my experience). $2500 seems a little steep for bumper season.
If there is even a chance of torpedo grass in your vacinity, zoysia (or Bermuda) is the answer. You are SOL with centipede or st Aug.
lol it’s in May! Not right now. We are on the Houston route on the way there, Chicago flight time worked better on the way home.
It is one itinerary and it’s a late in the day flight too (6:15pm landing, 7:56 departing) I know they build in extra time for taxiing, they did give option to confirm or change may see what the other options are but if I remember correctly, other flight connection times were tight too and I’m sure this isn’t the last change in itinerary before May

Tight connection international flight

Posted by 10tiger on 1/21/26 at 7:25 pm
We travel internationally pretty regularly but I’ve never connected through Chicago, so I’m unsure what their passport control/ tsa time is like. We have 1 hour 40 min and global entry. It’s Turkish airlines to united….it was a 2 hour connection but flight was just adjusted. The airline didn’t prompt me to reschedule so I assume they think it’s still doable. The last two times we came home from abroad it was at Dulles and global entry didn’t help much time wise. It was a dumpster fire of epic proportion. What say you frequent fliers?

It was made for a small Canadian network and picked up about two weeks before air date by HBO. I don’t think they expected the amount of attention by any stretch and was pretty low budget.
Low iron stores are also a cause. Not low blood counts necessarily but iron levels. Get your doc to check that as well.

I am bumping this. Just finished watching and to reiterate, many will not give it a chance for the content and that’s ok but man am I blown away by the acting. Connor storrie is a name to watch. The Russian monologue was just one of the many facets of phenomenal acting. Worth the watch.

Yes. That is the high season and what it cost. If you have flexibility, try the bumper season (may, sept)
Will be interesting to read the trials on these. A lot of meds that have been developed for the treatment of OSA are REM suppressing medications. Sleep apnea is worse in REM sleep, so by suppressing REM sleep theoretically you are improving sleep apnea. The brain also manages to get back to getting into REM sleep eventually. So long term efficacy will be interesting too.

It was very humbling post partum. I couldn’t get a normal arm swing either. Honestly didnt use it very much and would just get on a treadmill during naps.

re: Garage door issue

Posted by 10tiger on 12/31/25 at 4:25 pm to
Guy came out. Spring is def going bad. When we first moved in, we had a temporary door while ours came in (it was back ordered). Ours is wind rated and insulated, this guy has concerns that part of the issue is they didn’t change out the tracks when they changed the door to a more substantial track for the heavier door. (there is friction between some of the rollers on the track and isn’t staying in alignment well). I was not home when it was changed so I don’t know about changing out the tracks. Does this sound correct? Is there a way to know if it’s the correct tracks? Proposed solution would be to change the rollers from the current metal to nylon coated (I think that’s what he said) and the springs. I know next to nothing about this aside from what I’ve read online. Like I said before this house I have had no issues with garage doors on any previous houses. I am getting another opinion Friday and ideally the company that put it in will come back to assess but I will be honest I don’t have much faith in them from past experience. And neither does my contractor for that matter because they don’t use them anymore.
