The US can counter China much more effectively with its allies rather than one-off in effective tariffs.

Well, 100 million vaccinations would be more than 100 million shots since the Modern and Pfizer vaccines take two shots to work.
He also just said in press conference that he thinks they can ramp this up to 1.5 million.
So he's not backing off of it.

It's gonna cost tons of jobs.
This would be a great unity thing. He could say look, I really believe in the protecting the environment, but now is not the right time to lose tens of thousands of jobs.
Let's keep the pipeline and also invest in some clean energy.
I think people would love that kind of compromise and unity.
