This is backwards. The players have/had the leverage. They were in the playoffs. Making their lives hell would obviously be counterproductive.

They wanted to return.

At this point we have not signed any players in the positions we need to even play a game. The rankings don’t address position needs. If holes in the roster were part of the analysis the rankings would be flipped.

The physical tools are good and interest in getting them on your team is based on their size and athleticism. Not surprising at all.

The intangibles were exposed by, I think but nobody knows, coaches asking them to absorb too much early on. They probably will be better later in their collegiate work.

He signed a contract however there is a grace period that may allow him to squeak back into the portal. It’s not a settled issue yet.

There’s no panic or surprise here. This is happening pretty much the way I predicted.

Although, I still find it hard to believe that we were stupid enough to fire back to back coaches mid season. The valley is going to be lower this time.

February 13 can’t get here soon enough.

That’s all happy talk. What the hell is wrong with people in this group here.

We have 26 players. We have 14 early signers. 3 portal commitments.

Now we need to temper our expectations?

Having an expensive staff isn’t anything to brag about considering we have roughly 1/3 of the players allowed by the NCAA.

But don’t misunderstand, I’m not melting. I knew this was going to be the messiest transition ever. I hope we come out the other side competitive. But the reality is it likely won’t be this year. Maybe not next either.
