That’s fair. I do think they’re competitive though, but I get where this is coming from.

Lol the point of positivity is to stay positive during adversity. You could compare this positive thread to any positive thread that didn’t work out and say “see, told ya.” I mean, sometimes a bad team stays bad, sometimes it doesn’t. Like I stated, there are instances where positivity worked out, like in 2023. Still makes no sense to generalize and spam the board with threads about how doomed we are.
I’d argue we played the tougher half first based on number of road games. Home games are always easier for us, even with the tougher opponent.
I look forward to pulling this thread at the end of the year…

Nothing in this reply does anything to counter that they’re not competitive. You’re adding these qualifiers like 3/4 seed. The seed doesn’t matter. Making a regional is competitive. Period. And until a 14 win team doesn’t make it, then I’ll keep believing. The new conference has been around for 2 years now. Neither one of us knows how that changes things until it’s proven.
If 14 wins gets you in the regional, and that’s also a losing record (14-16), then whether it’s a losing record or not doesn’t matter. It’s competitive. At or around .500 in the sec is considered competitive.

Not sure I understand what you’re getting at
Poke at the person and not the actual argument, when here’s nothing intelligent to say. Good job. Just like replying with an emoji.

Nothing intelligent to say, huh? Laughing is usually a good emoji for that.
You’re the type of poster my post is singling out btw.
6-8 in SEC is competitive. Beating a ranked at-the-time team in Kentucky and winning a road SEC series is considered competitive.

Thank you for the comment on Jay because the way some people post, it does seem like they already hate him, which is ridiculous.

You got me. I looked at the record and decided to make this post.

It doesn’t look good now, but teams and players evolve as the season goes on. Moore will be coming back too. And if they don’t, then ok, you were right. But at least wait until then. You can’t take one half of the season and just assume the second half will go the same way. 2023 was a good example.

Agree that’s the only easy game, but at least the hardest ones are on the road. The “easier” are at home, helping to possibly secure 2 wins in each.

If they win tomorrow, at least it’s half way to 14 wins. If not, they’ll have to do better the second half. But that’s not far fetched. They’d need to go 2-1 in the 3 home series and 1-2 in the 2 away series. That would take them to 14-16. They can do that, and they’re in the regional, where anything happens. If they don’t win the whole thing, then ok. It’s unrealistic to think you’d win it all every year or even make Omaha. Venting after every loss just brings down the whole board, imo. Chill and let it play out.

No problem here. I have cox, and I’m using the espn app on my tv.

Certainly not a good start. He’s not normally a starter though. That makes a difference. He’s been better from the bullpen.
And my post wasn’t meant as a bash. I apologize if it came off that way.

I hate to be that guy, but did this really need a thread of its own? Lol… and it’s arrambide
38% chance if we lose this game, according to ChatGPT based on calculations from historical data since 2000 of teams starting 2-4 or worse.

You were saying…
Musso had this game nailed on his podcast. I wish I had taken McNeese +4.5… I still say LSU pulls this off though.
