Last time i checked, journalists have been a slightly antagonistic towards religion the past few decades (they make up the vast majority of the vote). Why do you think they decided to make a 180 when it came to Tebow and consider it a positive?
re: Is it legal for local law enforcement
Posted by PeleofAnalytics on 1/16/26 at 9:01 am to Tigertittie
If a federal agent is legally enforcing the law, locals can't do shite other than get themselves arrested by federal agents for obstruction.
This is all virtue signaling though. Local officials are too chickenshit to take a stand and follow through on these threats. They are stupid but not that stupid. They will leave the real obstruction up to the paid agitators that are useful idiots serving as cannon fodder. Their legal teams have made them very well aware what the law is and what happens if they order their officers to obstruct. I think some of them are true believers but don't have the courage to take the punishment for the belief.

Sounds so sincere with "That's what he wants" tagged on there at the end. Just a tip. If you want to make nice, don't end it with a accusation that the other person is the actual and solitary evil party in the dispute at the very end of your statement
re: California- proposed wealth tax is already pushing the state toward disaster.
Posted by PeleofAnalytics on 1/15/26 at 9:13 am to TrueTiger
Newsome is a nightmare but even he knows this would remove more than a trillion in wealth from the state once all is said and done. He will do something to stop the proposal from going through. What pisses Newsome off more it that these guys are moving their wealth to Texas and Tennessee.
Damage is done though. I can't see most of the people coming back that left this past few months. They know if it isn't this proposal, it will be one a year from now or the next. And the way these tax laws work, the more time between when you leave and when they eventually propose a tax, the better it is for the tax payer. Retroactively assessing tax is a thing but the state loses a lot of leverage the further back they try to retroactively apply it.

The people who are being offered the money are 90% Inuit. Native populations are very hard to figure out and determining their priorities is pretty difficult. Might not be money for them.

Why would anyone be surprised that a social media service gathers information on you? The more information that you voluntarily provide them when you sign their terms of service, the more they are going to take and try to monetize.

So China turbocharges the lending of a bunch of money to developing countries so they buy their goods and won't be paid back. Sounds like a sustainable model for both sides
re: If you can't pay off your credit card monthly, you shouldn't have one.
Posted by PeleofAnalytics on 1/13/26 at 2:41 pm to theballguy
What credit do you think is acceptable then? Our business has a LOC to fund our payroll because our billing cycle doesn't normally matchup to our paychecks going out. Without it, it requires more of a cash reserve that we don't really need to keep on hand. Drawing some fuzzy line on what type of credit should be acceptable and what is not seems like just some subjective takes on what one person thinks is a priority and what isn't.
My line in the sand is generally, are you paying unsecured debt off before you are dead or if your estate can cover it? If yes, i don't care if you pay every month or once a year. It gets paid. You are free to frick your credit up if you want.

I don't trust the any media that doesn't tell me what the charges are before getting into any type of discussion about the person and what their motivation or stance is.
She was arrested for obstructing a roadway and refusing to leave. Much like discussions i have with a lot of people (quite a few with my wife), can I get all the required info with one sentence? Great. The 10 minute backstory is always optional and normally irrelevant.

All men on here, please pay attention to your PSA and get screened for prostate cancer.
Unfortunately the medical establishment's lying about many things covid related has caused an unprecedented distrust in medicine. I'd imagine men of the age that needs to keep an eye on their PSA levels are more likely to distrust doctors more than other groups.
I can see prostate cancer rates go up because a lot of guys just don't go to the doctor as often any longer because the medical industry lied about so much.
