Cohen Wildlife Lab has an interesting Facebook post on this, based on their research. Upshot is flooded corn isn't the only issue, but it is definitely an issue. They have some interesting research based info in general regarding waterfowl, wildlife, etc.

"Here is what our science tells us about flooded corn in west Tennessee. It's important to understand the facts and nuance.

First and foremost: We need larger support for improved wetland quality and quantity, especially in highly degraded natural wetlands. Without flooded crops, many wetland systems have become so degraded that they may not provide the food waterfowl need during winter. Also, flooded corn has been around a lot longer than the 1990s. Having said that:

The scale of flooded corn in West Tennessee is massive: ~3,000 acres provide ~86 million duck energy days—about 13× more than traditional wetlands and nearly two-thirds of what conservation planners expect the entire state of Louisiana to provide annually. It's a lot of food on the landscape and it affects local mallard distributions. Check out the picture that shows the flooded corn distribution on our west TN landscape.
One pattern dominates mallard behavior: selection of refuges during the day and flooded corn at night.

But WHEN they use corn depends on hunting pressure:
Sanctuary corn: 24/7 use, depleted 2-4× faster.
Hunted corn: generally avoided in daylight and ~50% of fields had some corn remaining by mid-March.

Corn creates highly predictable flight lines between roosting sanctuaries and feeding areas. Mallards commute to where the corn is reliably and repeatedly. So even across landscapes where it is planted, the effect on hunt quality can be mixed. Mallard flight distances and exploration of landscapes increase as corn is depleted from the landscape.
The big question is: How does this concentration of predictable, high-energy habitat + weather + hunting pressure interact to shape flyway-wide settling patterns? There is no silver bullet answer, but that's the research we're currently focused on."

I think you can do it with out a complete rebuild. Zion needs to go and replace him with a floor spacer (preferably a 4 or 5) that can play some semblance of D and any picks you can get. Next year Fears and Queen initiate the offense, Herb is still around to bolster the defense and Trey does what he does and floor spacer X helps keep the paint open and moves us out of the basement in 3 pointers.
Herb is a culture setter and orchestrates the D. You need those guys on your team. And if we have another shooter on the court, he fits with the rooks.

Also, it wouldn't surprise me if Queen becomes a Naz Reid type 3pt shooter in a year or two. Unlike Zion, he has the willingness to take the 18 footer already and makes it with consistency. And while his % is low, his shot doesn't look bad from 3.

Would also keep Bey, and Peavy. Anyone else is expendable. Shedding Z also puts the ball more in Trey, Fears and Queen's hands moving forward. I suspect much of the rookies turnovers are to a large degree because they are rookies, so I would expect them to be better in that regard next year. And I think both of them have a confidence that, with more experience, can ultimately translate into closing games

Just not seeing Z stumble into 3 guys and the paint an fumble the ball away to lose the game would be a new positive.
Man it is brutal to go thru, but you did the right thing. 13 years is a good run. Had to do it recently with my 14 yr old lab, and twice before with 11 & 12 yr olds. It never gets any easier, but when they're suffering like that, it's an act of mercy. But I know the guilty feeling you talk about. It sucks because you have to be the one to decide when they pass on. My advice is wait a little while (not too long) before you get another pup -when your family is ready. When you do, just know they'll never replace your old dog or be the same as them, but they'll have their own personality and traits, but will help fill that void over time and create new memories.

Trash is grossly inaccurate. Not dominant, sure. Tackles are good (if healthy). Fuaga is playing with a bad knee and it showed on that last sack. But they are young and should continue to improve. And center is good. It would be nice to see what they look like with Penning in there at guard. Ruiz appears to be average, so is probably an overpay. I think the line would be fine with a little health and continuity. Maybe not what you would hope with 4 first rounders and 1 2nd, but again we haven't seen a snap from Penning at guard yet and not sure you can really accurately fully ssess the young tackles yet.

You really have no clue about Rita. She is a dumpster fire on a train that wrecked on the way to a sh@t show......
I don't know this to be true, but suspect to some extent that Queen is initially Zion insurance. If (when) Z gets hurt, or comes out of the game, Queen does some of the same things Z does offensively (connecting, attacking the rim, etc. albeit not in the same way) to allow the offense to flow. Hopefully they develop some synergy and are able to play together and not be a sieve defensively.
I have a Duckhill dog and am very happy. But if I am not mistaken, I think they are shutting their doors. I believe Mr. Milner passed away.
Every time I see someone mention her as a better option, I cringe. I had limited business dealings with her. It was a sh@t show. She was both OCD and ADD simultaneously. Late, distracted, spoiled. Then Benson sent her packing and we dealt with Gayle. Night and day difference, she was decisive and professional. Now I can't offer any insight as to how Gayle operates the Saints, but from the limited interactions I had, everyone should thank the God, Budda, the everywhere spirit, whomever you pray to that Tom came to his senses and gave Rita an apple and a road map outta town.
Same issue I am having. Did the same thing. Kinda a blessing in disguise I suppose-at least yesterday. I'm in NOLA. Wonder if its a Cox New Orleans issue?

Anyone have problems DVR-ing the games on Cox? I have tried a couple times and keep getting error messages when I try to play back. Only have issues with that channel.

Also was on Cox New Orleans 129
Dude is standing almost upright and letting the DE's get under him almost every snap. That's basic high school OL techinque that he's f'ing up. It's bad.
I think the notion of us having a "staring center" is a misconception. Zion will be our "starting" 5, on the court with CJ (or Trey), BI, Herb & Murray. They will play the best 5 players that are all switchable on D, except for CJ.
Karlo (& Theis) will be taking the backup 5 minutes, unless Yves' growth this year is beyond what could reasonably be expected. We will give up some on D down low and rebounding, but force the other team's bigs to cover Z or one of our "wings." That should be a mismatch. Will it work? Dunno. But barring a BI trade, I think that is more likely than not the strategy.
