re: CBS: LSU Underrated at #16

Jordy has said it a lot over the last few weeks. Insiders have said Bech was told to go practice with Johnson because he was going to be the starter. The “competition” was to keep Myles from transferring.

Haven't heard, I'll take your word for it.

But what I saw of Myles last year and what I saw of MJ, it wasn't even close. MJ can run. But dear god, some of the passes MB pulled off were works of art. That TM6 pass against MSU comes to mind.

Is that why it has come out lately that the QB “competition” wasn’t really a competition at all?

Where did you see that?

I know that Pasadena has its own health authority and thus is not subject to these LA County pronouncements (though they often follow suit). Is it too much to hope for that they draw the line at this idiocy?

No chance.

Of course Myles is a better passer. I’d expect that from a 5th year senior. But considering the gap is minimal at best, I’m not too worried.

Gap is absolutely not minimal.

Are you a family friend of the Brennan's or one of Myles' fishin' bro's?

No. I have eyes. Did you also think TJ was a stud after the USCe game?

Brennan made us a contender, even with his lack of running. Max doesn't. The dude can't throw well consistently. This entire board is going to want Nuss by week 3. Watch MJ's highlight reel.

bullshite! No American citizen would be able to give a pass to a US President that neglected +10,000 Americans in a war zone. The POTUS is the Commander in Chief and he's laying low at Camp David while his support staff screw things up more and more everyday. The USA looks weak and inept with zero actual leadership and the rest of the sits back and watches the actions of our President.

10,000 today, but they plan on moving many more til the 31st.

It's exactly like Christine Ford, Russia, George Floyd, or any BS scandal that the left magically became passionate about the last 4 years. Not one of them gave a shite about Ford, they wanted that seat. No one cared about Russia, they wanted Trump impeached.

Realistically, the overwhelming majority of those 10,000 are going to get out of Afghanistan. And you know that. So stop it. Don't be a leftist.

If you think trump won by a lot, you should get out more.

And I hate Biden, too.

"America first."

On top of that, this was technically Trump's plan back in May.

Just kinda reminds me how the Democrats pretended to care about Christine Ford when they wanted that seat. They didn't really care. And I honestly don't think you do either.

They voluntarily withdrew. Huge difference.

I honestly don't understand what the big deal is. America first, right?

Yeah, but I also think Trump supporters would be totally cool with all this had Trump been the president.
No. frick them. America first. We spent a trillion dollars over there to wipe their asses for 20 years.

And I'll take it a step further, as a Trump supporter and grateful blue state to red state relocater--I don't think most of the people on this board would be so outraged about leaving Afghanistan if Trump were the president.

Eh, I don't know where you live, but outside of the Deep South, it absolutely will not spark a war.

That would start a war here. Maybe Australia should arm up and...oh wait, their government took their guns already.

No it won't. That's where we're heading.

Not sure if you're keeping up but the media is not supportive of Biden right now.

Obviously you are, but you're not really doing that.

You just keep saying our sophomore QB, who was SEC Offensive Player of the Week in his 1st start, and who set LSU freshman passing records in his 2nd start, "can't throw".

Someone posted an entire video of Max Johnson plays here. I'm too lazy to go and find it, but take away his running, and he's just a mediocre QB. No deep ball threat whatsoever. Teams are just going to do everything they can to contain his running and make him beat them in the air.

Hope I'm wrong. But I'm not.

Admin, please ban this troll.

Dude. I'm not trolling. I want Max to succeed as much as anyone but I'm frustrated with how much this board hypes up a QB who really only has decent legs and very little else. I'm not allowed to point out weaknesses? Cool.

Pelini was awesome last year.
quote:

Considering his play from last season and his family, yeah he knows how to throw. a-hole.

Who cares about what his family does? My uncle was a flew planes for the navy... doesn't make me a pilot.

People fell in love with MJ's legs too much. Opposing teams are just going to force him to beat them in the air, which he can't. Watch his highlights. He cannot throw consistently.

Boy were we bad!!

And that was when we had a quarterback who could throw. Now we don't.
quote:

his short to intermediate was good for a true freshie. needs work on deep ball. if he has worked on reads like brennan needed to do he will do fine.

Oh he needs work on the deep ball. No big deal.

Oh his short to intermediate throws were good for a true freshman. No big deal.
quote:

I know it can be looked at as a cop out buuuut, the dude is just better in gametime. You cant teach shiet like that.

How? Have you seen the guy throw? He doesn't have it. At least Brennan could hit open receivers.
quote:

Honestly I'm really worried about his accuracy and I feel like we may be seriously restricted passing downfield. (downvote away)

I wish Brennan didn't break his goddamn arm.

I'm honestly stunned at how many people think Max ran away with this job. His accuracy is way too suspect to be a starting QB. We are BEYOND fricked.
quote:

I’ll be honest my plan has been to stay in Silver Lake or Echo Park to make it easier to go to Santa Monica, Sunset Strip, etc then take the metro to Pasadena on game day

Well I guess it depends on what you're looking for. Those places are definitely trendier, better nightlife (Pasadena's is "classier"), they are closer to SM, but getting to SM is going to be a pain in the arse no matter where you come from. It'd probably take you 30 minutes from Echo Park and 45 from Pasadena if you're not in traffic. 30 minutes is commonplace to get mostly anywhere in L.A. keep in mind.

I liked Pasadena because it's got more breathing room, still reasonably close to everything, and it's just overall nicer. But keep in mind you're also talking to a jaded former local who had enough of the hustle and bustle...

And like I said I never actually took the metro, so I can't comment on that.
quote:

What’s wrong with the metro?

After living there for 11 years, I kid you not, I’ve never used it and I don’t know anyone else who has. I guess it could work, but my point is, Pasadena is rad. The west side is an hour away from Pasadena, will be more like 2 hours away on game day. People really underestimate how spread out L.A. is.

No idea, but as bad as BR traffic can be, L.A. can have some of the worst traffic in the country. I'm guessing it COULD be worse than a normal LSU home game.

L.A. traffic is terrible but I promise you, after living there for 11 years, it will not be worse than leaving Tiger Stadium.
Westin in Pasadena is good.

Langham hotel in Pasadena is good.

Depends on budget. Pasadena is a nice area and out of the hustle and bustle of L.A., but is 20 minutes away from downtown if you want to put yourself through that. Old town Pasadena is a really chill area and has lots of classy establishments.

Do NOT STAY ON THE WEST SIDE. You’ll never make it to the stadium.

Good thing we’ll get to witness a good ole fashioned arse whooping in there

Unless Max learned how to throw in the offseason I wouldn’t be so sure
All of them, now that we don’t have a quarterback who can throw the ball accurately and consistently.
quote:

Maybe not the best thing that could have happened, but I sure would have hated to see Brennan go through getting told that Max had beat him for the starting gig after all of his hard work and patience over the years.

I agree, I would’ve felt bad if Brennan got beat out by a dude who can’t throw the ball.
