I expect that we would have a had a couple of wild days if the bombing had started when the markets were open. But, with the bombing starting on Saturday, by the time the markets opened Monday morning we had a much better idea what was going on.

I liked The Short Timers. It's the book that the movie Full Metal Jacket is based on.

From the online research I’ve done regarding bringing legal action, there are multiple suggestions that I need to retain a lawyer that practices within the sellers state (I believe this to be California, but eBay wouldn’t share with me)
This isn't correct. A state court where you reside would almost certainly have jurisdiction.
You might want to check out the Case Lee series. The books all have "Job" in the title, for example the first one is The Suriname Job.
Case is a former Delta Force operator who now works doing "investigations" for a mysterious Swiss company. The books are very realistic and you can tell that the author, Vince Milam, has lived at least some of the experiences he writes about.

Rommel was good. Not as good as Heinz Guderian (aka Quick Heinz), in my humble opinion.
I get it, even if nobody else here does.
Ever been to Boise? Best pizza I have ever eaten at The Wylder.

What is this "if charged" bullshite?
If he was arrested federally than the US Attorney is already likely on board. But he still has to be indicted by a grand jury.

Looks like this is the direction I am going. I appreciate the assistance.
Recommend a good garlic press

I used to have two decent garlic presses but they both broke. I have gone through a number of replacements but they are either a nightmare to clean or leave most of the garlic mashed up in the press.
Can somebody recommend a good, serviceable garlic press?
Thanks in advance.

I was in Quantico doing some BS job waiting for orders when Jim Webb visited the base. The word spread like wildfire, and it was like a rock star showing up on a college campus. Everyone stopped what they were doing and went outside hoping to catch a glimpse.

A medical bill is a made up number, with no relation to what the procedure costs or, more importantly, what the doctor is willing to take to do the procedure.
The insurance company never pays the list bill because the provider, in order to be "in network," agrees to take the "UCR" (usual, reasonable, and customary) price, which is a lot less.
In your case, the doctor knows there is no chance you would be willing to pay the list price. In my experience, they (except for anesthesiologists) are almost always willing to heavily discount the list price for a cash payment.

I confess to having no idea at all what they do. I put them in the dish because the recipe says so.
Eight Cents worth of Bay Leaves?
Posted by Roscoe14 on 1/8/26 at 10:32 am
The WinCo where I shop keeps a lot of staples, like rice, beans, flour and spices, in bins. I was short of bay leaves so I filled up a small baggie with a couple of tongs worth, writing the appropriate number on the twist tie.
The check out lady had a problem, as the amount of bay leaves didn't weigh enough to register at her scale. After consulting with another cashier, she pressed the air out of the bag, which apparently worked.
When I got home I checked the receipt to see what she charged me for the bay leaves. Eight cents.
This handily beats my previous best, which was 43 cents worth of rosemary.

I have the Anova. Owned it for 3-4 years and no problems. I just sealed up a four pound rib roast, not sure it would handle much more than that.

He also presided over the fall of the Philippines, one of the great disasters in American military history. Over 100k Americans taken prisoner. Of course, he wasn't among them because he abandoned his men, leaving Wainwright to take the fall.
