If we get Kelly, then ND will poach Fick from Cincinnati. I assume, when that happens, Freeman returns to Cincy as HC. Freeman's next gig will almost certainly be as a HC.

I'd like this. He's out recruiting even Urban. Think how much better he could do in the SEC.
Depends on what you consider big name programs with money. You consider Texas A&M a top program, so I imagine you are pretty lenient on which schools apply. I'd add:

- Heupel at Tennessee
- Beamer at SC
- Tucker at Michigan State in 2019. Previous experience at P5 Colorado.
- Jim Harbaugh at Michigan 2015. Previous experience in NFL and P5 Stanford.
- Paul Chryst at Wisconsin 2015. Previous experience at P5 Pitt
- Jimmy Lake at Washington 2020
- Scott Frost at Nebraska 2018

I want Ryan Day.

Can coach, can recruit, and seems to have a good eye for offensive talent. How much would it take? He makes less than $7 million now.
Texas A&M fanbase has frick you money. I see them doing quite well on the NIL front. I wouldn't underestimate them moving forward.
Home run hires that met expectations

-Saban/Alabama
-Urban/Ohio State
-Spurrier/South Carolina (arguably)

Still think we should shoot for an established coach.
So there is a chance with Ryan Day or Brian Kelly?

I wouldn't even blink at a $14m-$15m/year number for a new coach, if its truly a whale (don't think Jimbo is worth it).

Other than Saban (and maybe Dabo), which coach is a whale worth that kind of money?

So if 2007 was a fluky year, then what the hell would you call 2020? Would you call Bama a Fluke Champ?

Not sure what you are trying to get at. They were undefeated. The season was definitely a mess because of Covid. But, Alabama won all of their games. So, no, not fluky.
Florida State has won three national championships (1993, 1999, and 2013) and finished in the top five of the AP Poll for 14 straight years from 1987 through 2000. Their program is now in shambles.

Do you consider them a peer?

Are Georgia and Florida not peers? Florida has won 3 titles since Georgia last won one. Ohio State has been on a hell of a run for 20 years while Michigan has been mediocre. Are those 2 schools not peers?

Les Miles and Ed Orgeron came to LSU and won a title. So easy a caveman could it it.

So you believe that A&M is going to turn into a new super power?

2007 was a fluky year. We had 2 losses and Ohio State was mediocre. 2019 was all about the coordinators and a generational QB. Look where we are now.

Do I believe A&M is going to be a superpower? No. But, I think they are in just good as shape as us. Which is why I would consider them a peer.

Outside of a Saban led Alabama, I don't see any superpowers in college ball.
He had bad typos and didn't know how to edit. Clearly needed to be gone.
Large state schools with lots of money, die hard fan support and a willingness to splurge on the program. From an NIL standpoint, both programs are at least in as good shape as us and that's going to have a huge impact on recruiting. Both programs have pipelines into Texas talent. What makes us so much more attractive?
Yep, been coming here since Orgeron has Ben fired. Am I not welcome?

Which are our peer programs

I see lots of people advocating for Lincoln Riley and Jimbo. I have regarded Oklahoma and aTm as peer programs. Am I wrong? Which programs do people here regard as programs at the same level as LSU?
