The fact that 2019 LSU is who everyone compares everything to tells you all you need to know.
Get ready for eleventy thousand responses telling you the deadline is only for players to declare they are entering the portal not the deadline for LSU to sign players from the portal.
It’s probably been 50 years since a majority of the players came because they really love LSU.
Seemed like just the other day all the victims on TD were bitching because woke sports writers were attacking Kim. Now they love her and you’re bitching about that instead? Did the maga mob suddenly remember women were higher on their hate list than gay people? It’s hard to keep up with the twists and turns of how neuroses form around here.

I've blindly defended Ryan Clark for a while...

Funny I can’t seem to find any posts from you even talking about Ryan Clark at all. I’m guessing you’ve never defended him but you have figured out that starting a thread about him his a great way to get +5 pages. Congrats.
You’ll keep listening. You can’t help yourself. You love feeling like a victim and bitching about woke blah blah blah.
I think it’s LSU fans loving the roll of being a victim syndrome.
It's not cool to admit you have a rivalry with another school for some reason. But it's always cool to claim the other school thinks it's a rivalry.

Any QB could call their own plays. Let not act like Burrow is some special wizard.

LOL yeah he was a real scrub.
Having a monopoly on talent was an essential part of Saban's strategy.

It's funny that Bama fans who joined the bandwagon during that period actually believed it was something special about Bama that enabled all those championships.
Alabama was nowhere near championship material this year. Neither was Oklahoma. That's why they had those two teams play each other in the first round... so at least one of them could get this far and to delay how obvious it is that neither one is that good.

So could Brian Kelly, and that went off the rails.

So could Nick Saban, and that worked out pretty well.
Letting Kiffin be Kiffin was part of the appeal of LSU. A low-key coach who doesn't want attention is not what we signed up for. You're going to have to get over that.

People pretended players weren't paid already. Willful ignorance.

SOME players were getting paid by SOME schools. We can only speculate but I’d guess it was a drop in the bucket compared to the money being made by the industry.

What blows my mind is the number of rich people willing to throw their money around just for (I guess) bragging rights. It doesn’t seem like they even understand what they are buying half the time. I would think that will eventually work itself out but at least for now it seems to be getting more extreme.
That’s for all the RBs we landed in 2025.

That kind of statistic is misleading. It’s like total number of wins for coaches. In some cases you are comparing him to players who were at LSU one fewer year. You aren’t showing anything about number of attempts.
