Football is far and away more Important than pretty much anything at LSU…as it should be. Nothing else comes close to meaning as much to the school and the state.

Everybody was "cheating" back then, don't be a child. The difference was that Wade had to fund his recruiting out of his own pocket, while the other big schools basically had NIL infrastructure before there was NIL ...yet he still could put his teams in the tournament.
Imagine what he could do with real money?
Now. If we aren't willing to get serious about funding men's college basketball, there's really no point in bothering. That goes for Wade as well as any other coach.
