The reported ~12 million he's getting for NIL will not get us a top tier roster this year. That would've been great last year, but this year the contenders are paying 2-4 million for each starter.

Exactly. He's an elite coach. He took Texas Tech to the national championship game and had Texas primed for a final 4 until he beat his girlfriend. Last year he took perennial bottom feeder Ole Miss to ontly their second sweet 16 in school history. His problem is the NIL money at Ole Miss. They're giving it all to the football program.
