I used to live in Crowley so know about hawks. Spent a lot of time fishing and camping at Chicot. We have a group that usually rents the group camp and a few cabins in the spring. Going to bogue chitto this year instead

Yes I tried it 5 or 6 years ago and it was very disappointing. Didn’t look like or taste anything like the original. Maybe I hit them on a bad day.
I’ve had t-boys before and it’s good stuff. My favorite back in the day was Johnson’s in Eunice.

Thanks for all the good information everybody. This is more than enough info for them to put a weekend together. Appreciate all the smartass comments as well. The board would suck without them.

What to do in mamou

I have some friends that want to spend the last weekend in March in or around mamou. Only thing on their list is a trip to Fred’s and a visit to st Anthony’s catholic church in Eunice. I told them I’m not sure mamou has any hotels but Eunice had four. And the only noteworthy restaurant I could suggest is DI’s going out of Eunice. Any suggestions or recommendations is appreciated. Also mentioned the liberty theatre in Eunice as something to do but not sure it is opened since the renovation.
I went through Iowa last December. It had been a few years since I had eaten that sausage. I bought the vacuum packed stuff. I was disappointed. The grind was different and the taste was not what I remember. Don’t know the story but heard some
Time back the place changed hands within the family. Something is different.

I went about a year ago and while previous trips were ok, this last one was really disappointing. Food was very bland. The catfish was tasteless and I’m not sure it was catfish. I always thought dirty rice was a strange side to include on a seafood platter and never thought it was any good. And this last time I went they asked if I wanted the dirty rice. Strange question when it is included in the platter.
What’s this supposed to mean
