Well the president campaigned on no new wars and continues to lie to MAGA. A majority of the podcasters that supported him have jumped ship.
I don't disagree.
But I find it refreshing that Trump is able to be pragmatic rather than a hard-core idealist. I don't think he wanted to do this. But sometimes we all have to do unpleasant things that we don't want to do... even when it may cause pain to ourselves. I am cautiously optimistic about this whole thing. One thing that's somewhat comforting is that Trump plays to win. He doesn't play to not lose.

But Trump said the strikes last year completely wiped out Iran’s nuclear research facilities. If that’s the case haven’t we eliminated the threat to the US at that point??
Their facilities may indeed have been wiped out. Or maybe they weren't and we only said they were in order to not reveal what we know and don't know.
But let's assume their facilities were wiped out.
That doesn't mean they don't still possess the uranium they had already enriched. Supposedly it was up to 60%. It would take approximately two weeks to get it up to 90% if they can obtain more centrifuges. They'd also still have the capability to create dirty bombs with what they have already.

Was it not the British and the Russians who installed the Shah?

Yes, that would have been an option.
Then our bases and whatever else we left behind gets destroyed. Would that have been acceptable? Or only then should we have attacked?

I don't necessarily disagree. But it wasn't done 40 yrs ago. It was done (or started) this weekend.
I'm asking if we really had any other option if Israel was going to go in with or without us. If they did, our bases were still going to be attacked.

We have significant assets, people, and bases all over the Middle East. I think everyone agrees with that.
I heard a few times last week and again today that Israel was going to do this with or without us. So our option was to wait for the inevitable attack on our ME bases, or just tag along with Israel and be preemptive.
Could we have stopped Israel?
I don't have a strong opinion either way on whether this was the right thing, or the right time, and I certainly don't have an opinion on how it's gonna end. Sometimes a question is just a question.
Was Israel going to go at it alone? And could we have stopped them?

Are you really arguing the semantics of "why" Obama gave Iran that cash?
Why at that moment? Why after 37 years was it finally time to pay up?
Why would he pay the money back to govt that overthrew the govt the money originally belonged to?
Do you even have a point, or are you just trying to be contrarian by any means possible?

You may be right. But do people want Newsome, AOC, Harris, etc. in charge?

Not necessarily. But there's about a 90% chance that they know absolutely nothing about the situation and are simply against anything Trump does.

Whether you agree with the tariffs or not, Trump has been preaching them since the 80s. For four decades he's been saying the exact same thing when it comes to tariffs.

I think we hosted the old Winn Dixie Challenge back in Skip’s early years. It was LSU and two other Louisiana schools vs three schools from another state. I miss it.
This was a great event. The issue was playing it in the Superdome.
I remember watching Deion Sanders play for FSU in this series back in the 80s.
I know we played Florida schools, MS schools, and TX schools during three of the seasons. I know there were more.

If not a full tournament, I'd like to see a return of the old Busch/Winn Dixie Classic format.
Play a round robin over three days with three teams from another state.
But do it at the Box.

re: Predict total number of losses for this baseball team

Someone once said, "no matter how good you are, you'll lose a third of your games, and no matter how bad you are, you'll win a third of your games. It's what you do with the other third that matters."
This was a reference to MLB though. I do not see LSU losing a third of their games, but it'll be more than single digit losses IMO. That's just the way it is. You'll lose a few along the way that you never should have lost.
My prediction is 12-15 games lost. And a national championship! :dude:

Is she here legally?
The left has intentionally muddled the definition of legal. To a sane person, she is not here legally.
But what happens is, they apply for asylum or citizenship and are given court dates ten years out. Court date comes, and then some other loophole allows extending things another several years. The left will claim this is "legal" which I suppose is true. And while true, sane people know its BS.
Finally, a sane administration tries deporting her, and the left says she's here "legally" and has been here for 15+ years so we feel sorry for the person, disregarding the fact that she should have been deported over a decade ago.

Posted by deuceiswild on 2/23/26 at 9:04 am to SPEEDY
In my opinion, seeking asylum should only be possible if you're in a country bordering the country you're seeking asylum from.
You should not be able to cross multiple countries till you find one you like.

Within a month of the Sebelius decision, he stopped taking all insurance and went to a subscription based "boutique" practice.
I thought this was illegal. I wondered for a long time why more doctors didn't do this, then with research I found examples of doctors trying it, and it was deemed illegal. If i remember correctly, they were basically told they were running a defacto insurance plan and they couldn't do that. Doesnt make sense to me, but that's what I seem to remember.
Doctors were basically charging a flat monthly rate in order to be his patient. And he'd do anything his practice was capable of doing with no additional charge to the patient. If you needed medicine, or had to be sent to a specialist or something, then you'd use your actual insurance plan.

re: Need Help with Dryer Duct

Damn, and I thought I had a problem with about 20' of 4" PVC ducting running under my slab with two 90s in it.
Anyways, about twice a year I end up having to plug the duct outside the house, fill the pipe solid from inside, then let it all run out.
Someday they'll come up with a better damned way of attaching the elephant trunk to the damned dryer
