re: Shreveport or Nola for Med School

some safe neighborhoods students live in, general atmosphere of school, do you feel as if coursework has prepared you for Step, and that the program itself has made you a competitive applicant that would be able to match into competitive specialties (out of state preferably), and the quality of faculty/profs
If I could go to other schools I would. I have only been accepted into LA schools. it’s competitive enough to get into the schools here, and only exponentially harder out of state.
Grew up in shreveport, and still family there (this is also making decision somewhat difficult). Would not live with parents though if I were to return. I have been at LSU BR for undergrad
From what I’ve heard is that STEP scores are pretty similar, would love to leave Louisiana at some point for residency and saw approx 50% at Nola placed in residency OOS. Can’t find this stat for Shreveport. Been hard to tell a lot about program atmosphere since interviews were all conducted on zoom.
Shreveport or Nola for Med School

I have been accepted to shreveport and new orleans for medical school. Until recently, I was dead set on Nola. However, with all the recent news on crime, I am wondering if I should reconsider that decision. Anyone with insight would be greatly appreciated.
