re: Zurich may be a wet one

One year they had heavy rains and high winds. Trees fell and crap was everywhere. Play had stopped around noon and didn’t resume until the next day. Grounds guys worked all night clearing trees and debris.

I don’t think Hahnville or Destrehan or us or Belle Chasse or anyone in St. Tammany is struggling. There’s enough kids for everyone
Hahnville and Destrehan lose a lot of kids to private schools. In the early 2000's Rummel had 5 or 6 kids from Luling starting for them. That was when Rummel won 4 Catholic League titles in a row. Lots of kids also leave the parish to go to St. Charles Catholic in LaPlace....that one puzzles me because the Academics at SCC are not even close to DHS and HHS.
You are correct that there were a few delays last year, little rain but more due to lightning. Hopefully Zach is wrong and the rain stays to the north and west of the area like it has been doing this year.
Time to shrink the game.

Wyndham Clark and Taylor Moore will team up.
quote:
Wyndham Clark, winner of the 2023 U.S. Open, will team with Taylor Moore in the 2026 Zurich Classic of New Orleans.
He has found success in the past at the Zurich Classic, with a third in 2023 after a tie for 10th the year before and a tie for 17th in 2021.
He posted nine top-25 finishes in 2025, the best a tie for fourth in The Open Championship.
In addition to his U.S. Open victory in 2023, he also won the Wells Fargo Championship that year and posted five top-10 finishes, including a third in the season-ending Tour Championship.
Clark started full-time on the PGA Tour in the 2018-19 season and became one of eight rookies to qualify for the BMW Championship in the fall that year.
Taylor Moore, Clark’s partner this year, finished tied for fourth at the Zurich Classic in both 2022 and 2023, playing with Matthew NeSmith.
He won the 2023 Valspar Championship for his lone victory on the PGA Tour. This year he has recorded two top-10 finishes, a tie for seventh in The American Express and a tie for ninth in the WM Phoenix Open.
In 2024, he tied for second in the Texas Children’s Houston Open, the first runner-up finish in his PGA Tour career. He also tied for 12th in the PGA Championship, one of eight top-25 finishes he recorded last year.

I don't like him because of his college exploits and what others have insinuated about him, but did you get the sense he was fully aware of his image and he was trying to be "better"?
Not really, I think he actually embraced the bad guy image and used it to motivate himself. Our interactions were when nobody was around and while practicing so it seemed genuine.

I talked with him at the Houston tournament years back before LIV and we talked LSU football and he was fine. Gland he is back on the PGA
Had similar experience with Reed several years ago at the Zurich pro am day. Worked 6 Tee that day and there was a backup on the hole so Pat was waiting quite a while on the tee while the amateurs in his group were up by a forward tee. He was very friendly and was showing me his new driver he was trying. I know he has baggage but glad he’s coming back to the tour. Same with Brooks.

It’s been about a month since I played it but it was in good condition then.
I look at this way, you get to see a lot of the young up and comers at the Zurich along with a few top names. Not ideal but still some great golf played and always a fun time.

Carrie Underwood in her prime was almost untouchable.
At one of the first Bayou Country Superfest we had seats pretty close to the stage. My son who was in high school kept saying "Look at those legs!" every time she passed in front of us.

So glad he got the win. Had to be dreadful playing with Dumont de Chassart.

Mother of the year material.

Tpc actually took care of their greens.
They have the staff to do it right and need to keep them ready for the Zurich. Played there after a cold spell and they left the tarps rolled up near the greens. Most greens in the NOLA area are in pretty good shape coming out of the winter.

The course should be closed every Monday.
Most nice places do close on Monday. This gives the course time for much needed maintenance after the weekend madness and gives the crew all full day without interruptions.

Can they still use the dome for baseball with regular dimensions? That turf looked like it was not meant for the dome. Figured they just made it fit so they could keep the crowd at full capacity. You really have to love that shite to sit in RF corner.
Since the renovations the Dome can’t be configured for a real baseball game. The original design allowed for the stands to be moved to have 315 down the lines, 358-365 in the allies and 421 to dead center.
The little hill behind 13 tee is a great spot, you can see 6 green and 7 tee as well as 13. .

The Best of the Zurich is the better deal. Walkons is behind 17 green which is a good view but the food isn’t comparable to the Best of.
I’ll be working 17 green all week, thank god I know where the AC leaks out of the Walkons Pavilion for a quick cooldown.
