God that dude was such a punk. Not quite Marshall Henderson level but almost.
Best mullet in sports history though.
Damn, just looked him up and he died of cancer in 2018. All kidding aside, RIP Dwayne. Those were some fun days in the PMAC.

re: Kiffin and former players

IMO, Kiffin is FINALLY at a place he really wants to be long term. I think he got that opportunity early in his career at USC and then in the NFL but he wasn’t quite ready for it and had some personal demons to deal with. He’s spent the past 10 years making his way back to this moment.
The former players thing will be a function of time and his having developed the culture. As he builds it, they will come. And they will return.

yep. since that Russell Shepherd class. I also remember his first year and I kept waiting to see him do something out there. This year will be even better!

Im not coping when I say this. He wasn’t very good in coverage at all. He has issues with missed tackles and needs to get that cleaned up.
I mean, when you zoom out for a sec, we are splitting hairs a bit here. Bottom line is that we are a little thin at LB and kinda just need serviceable bodies. We don’t expect him to be the next Devin White but we were 1-2 injuries away from walk ons playing.

lot of the guys that transferred out got ranked highly solely on them having a high HS or just getting the LSU boost.
THIS! complete crap. Curne maybe deserved his rating but we ditched some dead star-weight.

As an LSU fan, I really do appreciate the shoutout. I do however think, we should wait and at least see if there is improvement of product on the field first.
This. As an objective LSU fan, we Tigers need to prove they we can sustain success. We have been a championship program in spurts. There was a 5 year period from 85-89 where we had more wins than any other SEC program. We have four natties and 12 SEC championships which I believe is third in the league or something.
The droughts have been very dry though. Bama is obviously the standard and it is doubtful anyone will ever catch up, but the one thing we as fans want is HOPE. And now we are in an era with someone i think is a great leader and 'on our way'. But we have a lot of ground to make up and need to prove more than just our potential.
To me, that looks like 10+ wins over a 5-8 year period. Time will tell, but I for one am pretty fired up about the future. The HOPE is strong. Might be COPE next year but that's why we cast our lot !
Historic OMiFans rivalry rebooted
Posted by Russianblue on 1/16/26 at 6:59 am
I’m SO many threads I read about LSU not having a true rival, but then hear the old baws speak up about how it’s Ole Miss Ole Miss Ole Miss! Didn’t compute for me tbh. hi
My dad and his old baws absolutely hate ole miss and I have never really understood why. They haven’t been particularly relevant in the past 40 years.
That said, I was always amused at how uppity the kids from BR attending Ole Miss were (with many notable exceptions). There was an unspoken contract though. You do you w your country club act and we’re fine with our rep as the crazy cajuns with superior sports programs and slight bourbon essence.
But if this flash of success and the accompanying attitude of OMiFans is any indicator of how it was in the old days, the boomer hate is starting to make a LOT more sense.
I for one welcome the reboot of the old rivalry. And this one has all the trimmings of a great one, focused around a PRIMAL hatred by the scorned, bunny boiling ex lover. OMiFans have raised it to a new level though. Keying cars, spying on the ex’s kids at school, social doxxing, identity theft type shite.
They say you can learn a lot from your elders and this case they were correct.
For now, rivalry application…
APPROVED DENIED [PENDING]
apologies to tGrind. Didn’t meant to steal YOUR ex.

I like listening to Alyssa Lang. She knows her shite.
I gotta admit, it might be a little disturbing to have a woman in the house with more sports knowledge than I have. That's not the natural order of things. I would try it though !

If Jay Johnson needs money, Jay Johnson need only raise his hand from the back of the classroom.
He could raise half a mil passing an offering plate at a weekend SEC series. you’d have people walking out to their campers to grab the title out of the glove box to put into the till and taking an uber home.

Honestly, I think it will be a few more years before we see another Trinidad. He’s the best since Jayden Daniels. Love watching that kid.

They had a lot of success like Kiffins offenses always do. Just wondering how do our players we have now compare to what they had this year?
don’t be insulted by the downvotes but do know this: if you phrase your post as a question it’s a 100 percent probability you will be downvoted. I don’t really understand the phenomenon but that’s just how it is here. Matter of fact, there is a good chance you asked a great question (which yours is) and most of the folks responding will agree it’s a great question, but for whatever reason you will be downvoted to hell if it ends with a question mark.
LOTS of intelligent folks here. WAY more sub 100 IQs. don’t take it personally.
to your point, I think it is hard to say but our players this year obviously underperformed. Now, whether that was their own fault or a result of the scheme…I lean to scheme.
I mean, we were well within striking distance in all our losses except Texas arse to Mouth. and those wore all decently ranked teams. and with the worst offense in the past 40 years. so I honestly think it matters less who the players were versus who the coaches were.
coach kiffen/kiffing/kifern/kiffling/ki’fene will do better with whomever he’s got and I think we are in a really good position. and my ‘typos’ are just to make a point that you shouldn’t get insulted with your good question by the 90 IQ guys.

I had my phone out w the roster for the first four games LAST year.
I’m gonna need an Oxford educated personal tutor this fall.
So are the wives. I figured out long ago the way to get (most, not all mind you) the ladies enthused is background on the players and families. They are much more interested in the personalities than the X’s and o’s. and let’s face it, you baws love that drama too. But it is secondary to performance. But the ladies want to know who cuts his hair, where he eats, where his mama is, who takes care of him and if he has a girlfriend.
