re: BR schools: SJV vs OLOM

OP here—unfortunately St. George. Aloysius and St. Jude don’t have the room. I have two kids so that makes it a bit harder and I would like to keep them at the same school.

I have been trying to get ahold of MBS but they are radio silent.

My work is closer to Mercy so it sounds like that is they way to go given my current options.

I appreciate all the help everyone!

BR schools: SJV vs OLOM

Good morning OT,

I am once again asking for your boots on the ground advice. My family is relocating to BR and we considering Mercy or SJV (really our only two options due to full class sizes for the upcoming year).

Any thoughts on these two? Our house is in the Oak Hills area so I am also curious on which commute will make me want to kill myself less. I assume SJV would be easier going east versus north but what kind of morning/afternoon commute would we be looking at with these two?

Anyone have thoughts on Springlake area off of Bluebonnet? Considering for a rental until we can find the right house. Seems to be reasonably priced and appears like a decent neighborhood. Anything I am missing?

Probably not comfortably unfortunately. What area would that bring into play?

Looking for some of that valuable OT advice.

Family is relocating to BR and we are trying to narrow down where to look for a home. Most likely somewhere in the 400-550k range. Could push 600 if needed. Definitely trying to find a safe, comfortable area where the kids can play outside, ride bikes, etc.

We have seen a few decent homes in Uclub that are nice. Seem to have great amenities.

I see several people have recommended Oak Hill subdivision. Just based on the few houses I have seen, It seemed like the neighborhood may be a bit dated? Are people starting to renovate homes? I may have just seen an older section.

Housing prices are crazy right now so we are considering renting for 6 months to a year to see what the market does. Any areas for rental homes that you would recommend?

Part II- Any OTers have knowledge of the catholic elementary schools? A bit worried everyone may be full/waitlisted for the upcoming year. Everyone is on summer hours so having some trouble reaching the schools for info.

Thoughts and any other recommendations would be great appreciated.
