re: Nebraska fans..

Completely untrue. All of it. Pelini needs to get through an interview, which isn't his strong suit. He's bombed terribly on the 3-4 jobs he went into as the leading candidate for. And Turner is not coming back to Nebraska in any coordinator capacity. His interview helps Nebraska fill the minority interview requirement, gets him more money from Buffalo and helps appease the portion of the boosters that want Gill as the next HC.
He will be there tonight and his interview will be tomorrow.

Interesting though-if he's going to interview tomorrow, he certainly won't be there preparing for the SEC championship game.

That's where the search firm Nebraska is using is located. The plane from Nebraska is scheduled to leave for Atlanta in under an hour.

Why the secrecy? Its not like the first time a coaching search has ever been conducted and people knew about it.

It makes Tom Osborne look pretty bad.

Bertman not contacted

Skip Bertman was called by a reporter from Nebraska and says he had no idea anyone was coming to interview Pelini because nobody asked permission.

Lincoln Journal Star
Coincidence?

A private plane, a Cessna Citation CJ3 (twin-jet), left Lincoln Municipal Airport at 1:14 Sunday afternoon.

It's supposed to arrive in Baton Rouge at 3:19.

The plane is owned by Norfolk Iron and Metal, a company out of Nebraska.

Dick Robinson, president of Norfolk Iron and Metal, declined comment Sunday as to why the plane was headed to Baton Rouge.

"We have a policy that we don't reveal that type of information," said Robinson, a substantial booster to the athletic program.

In 2006, Robinson was presented with the Clarence Swanson Memorial Award.

The award honors a person "for outstanding contributions to the University of Nebraska and the Husker athletic department."

When told of the flight, LSU athletic director Skip Bertman said: "Are you kidding me?"

Bertman said nobody has contacted him regarding LSU's defensive coordinator Bo Pelini, considered a lead candidate for the Husker head coaching job.

"I don't think Tom Osborne would do it any other way," Bertman said.

However, "It's probably not absolutely, positively mandatory for an assistant. I don't suppose he felt he had to contact me, I guess."

This comes a day after three sources told the Journal Star a private search firm had contacted Pelini about the Husker job.

Saturday, a source close to Pelini said the former Husker assistant was in the process of trying to arrange time for an interview with NU officials.

Pelini needs to be reviewing Tenn film rather than talking to Nebraska right now.

Pelini needs to stay the frack out of Nebraska!
