Pecan brochette @ Soileaus
Cafe Josephine had good steaks, but it ain’t cheap
Steamboat is solid

I also like Pizza Shack but it’s not for everyone
Pretty sure Aranda is on Nebraska’s radar too and they’ll pay him whatever he wants
Only had 97 yards in his game this past Fri. against halfway decent competition
If he gets them to a bowl I think there’s a very good chance they hire him. That means they’d have to go 4-3 over their last 7 and their schedule isn’t that difficult

Bill Busch (former LSU guy) is their interim DC as well and the defense performed well against Indians
You’re probably right but if MJ is able to make a bowl and wins the permanent HC spot he’ll get his share of LA kids that are overlooked/not offered by LSU… Ajay Allen for example. Also Decoldest is there and Trey Palmer is having an excellent season with them and they’ll be helping to peer recruit LA guys also, no doubt

Rocco’s Poboys - Drusilla

Posted by Herbie Hoya on 9/29/22 at 8:07 pm
Based on the recs of this board I decided to check out Rocco’s today. Hadn’t been there in many, many years. I ordered the “Crescent City Combo” with a side of extra gravy. I assumed the gravy would be the debris gravy from their roast beef. Instead I proceeded to watch as the guy went to back and pulled out an industrial-sized can of generic brown gravy, opened the top, and dumped it into a big vat and then layered it on the sandwich and filled a little cup with it for the extra I’d requested. When he brought it to me I asked, “Wait, y’all use canned gravy?” to which he replied, “I mean yeah, we can’t make it fresh every day.” I should’ve told him I didn’t want it but I’d already paid and I was hungry. Brought it home, took one bite, and threw it in the trash. It was fricking terrible.

Bills
Bucs Creamsicle

And these

If you want something that’ll really put hair on your arse, try a Red Eye (from the movie Cocktail)

idc what anyone says, the pan pizza from Dominos is awesome
Just wanted to add that Screamin’ Silician’s “Totally Taco” pizza is legit

That is all
frick off - Micheladas are awesome
I remember during one of the hurricanes our power was out and the house was an oven. All of the hotels in the area were sold out but when we called Alamo they said they had a couple rooms left. We sped out there and when we got there there were cops everywhere and one room’s door was open and covered with crime tape. We ended up going to TX instead.

I can also believe that Nebraska’s boosters and administration got themselves into this mess by deciding that Solich and Pelini weren’t good enough and should be fired.

I see a lot of people saying this. I’m as big a Nebraska football fan as there is, and i approved both firings. Solich couldn’t recruit and was headed downhill fast; Pelini had reached his obvious ceiling and had begun to plateau. The problem wasn’t the firings, it was the replacement hires. Rather than taking the next step forward, both Callahan and Riley took steps backward. Frost took yet another step back. That’s why this next hire is so critical because everyone knows that once you take 3 steps back in a row, you don’t come back.
Sounds like Erin Andrews is shooting her shot

Totally inaccurate. I don’t know one single Nebraska fan who thinks that. All we want is to be winning the West and competing for the conference championship on a regular basis, which isn’t all that hard to do considering the teams in the West.
A top 5 team? No. But I have no doubt he could win the Big 10 West on a regular basis and put competitive teams in the conference championship game. Doesn’t matter, though. Trev won’t consider him because he doesn’t match “the integrity and morals of this great state.” They’ll end up with Klieman or Leipold and winning 6-8 games a year and be complaining 5 years from now about it
No idea, but word is that feelers were sent out and he expressed mutual interest. I personally wouldn’t want him, anyway.
To be fair, Martinez was really good as a freshman and even had some Heisman buzz going into his sophomore campaign. They wanted him to bulk up and when he did it slowed him down and he lost his elusiveness and wiggle. Also suffered some injuries that slowed his progress and he never recovered. Moments of greatness interspersed with moments of total failure.
Frost’s teams always looked sedated. I’d see other teams, jumping around, hyped, like hungry animals in their cages, waiting to be released to go run out on the field. Nebraska players would run out like they just woke up from a collective nap. No fire at all.

If I lost to the same team 36 years in a row I’d be salty too

If Mickey can get them to a bowl then he will be given a serious look. That won’t be easy though. Their defense stinks and the current DC was a Frost guy from UCF. He very well could just tank the rest of the season.

If MJ is hired as the new HC, I hope he can somehow lure his brother to be the DC, and maybe bring in Ed O as recruiting coordinator.

As for Fleck, he’s not a target. I’ve seen the short list of candidates and he’s not being considered. Two names I already know that have been contacted (and expressed mutual interest) are Matt Campbell and Jamey Chadwell. I think Rhule is high on the list as well; just waiting to see what happens to him in Carolina. A lot of fans want Meyer and he’s hinted that he would listen, but Alberts wants someone clean-cut with a lot of integrity to match the conservatism of Nebraska, and Urb doesn’t fit that mold.
I keep seeing people say this but I don’t know one single Nebraska fan who expects them to be anywhere near the level they were in the 90s. All they want is to be competitive, such as the level of a Wisconsin, and compete (and win) the Big 10 West which isn’t hard to do.

As far as NIL goes they were ranked #2 or 3 in NIL last year so you’re totally off on that one as well.

Frost chose to bring all his buddies along with him when he was hired rather than going out and hiring top-tier coordinators. Last year Trev game him the chance to make changes and get rid of any staff members who weren’t cutting it. He chose to keep Chinander (DC) and that led to his downfall. Nebraska has talent, especially on offense. 2 excellent RBs, some very good WRs, and a solid QB. Defense is terrible and offensive line is soft. They haven’t recruited OL/DL well. Frost’s top priority for OL was that he wanted “tall” guys. For what reason, I have no clue. That’s why now their OL has guys that are 6’7”, 6’8”, and 6’10”. Big but soft. They were getting pushed around by the FCS North Dakota d-line. Urban Meyer will be in Lincoln this weekend and has hinted that he might be interested in the job, but it’s doubtful that Trev will talk to him because he doesn’t “match the morals and standards of this great state.” Sad. Instead they’ll end up with the “safe” hire like Campbell or Klieman or Leipold and win 7-8 games a year.

Quite a few are saying Matt Campbell.

Yeah, that’s what I’m hearing too. I hope not.

don't think Meyer would even take their call.

Well, he’ll be in Lincoln next weekend, so they’ll have their chance to show him what they’ve got.

If Nebraska really paid the full buyout then they are legit retarded. Waste of 7 million dollars

Warren Buffet probably paid it with his spare change.

Gives Nebraska a head start on the coaching search over other teams who will be looking to replace coaches at the end of the season

If you don’t think there were behind-the-scenes moves going on long before this, you don’t know much about football

You obviously don’t watch Nebraska football - they have plenty of talent.
The timing of the firing is odd which is why some think the AD already has his man and it’s not someone currently coaching. I’m pretty sure Herman isn’t still w/ the Bears
