As Maverick would say...."It ain't the plane, it's the pilot", but in this case it's like showing up at the track in a Pinto to race a Camaro.....no good was gonna come from it.
re: Iran has a much stronger military than Ukraine.
Posted by DocYatesVA on 3/5/26 at 5:46 am to SlowFlowPro
The Iraq-Iran conflict lasted from 1980 to 1988 and was really considered a draw. Iraq did not exert military dominance over Iran in any capacity. What you are talking about is the two conflicts with the US, in which George Bush (I) did not finish the job he stared and allowed Saddam to remain in power. The cuckhold NATO group and our weak administration caused the second war when they did not finish the first. It had nothing to do with nation building. If Iraq had be razed to rubble the first go around alot of the issues could have been solved and lives saved.

"Keep in mind that they put up virtually no resistance to Saddam Hussein"
You do realize that the war with Iraq was a draw that lasted almost 9 years, right? It was by no means a lopsided affair.

The sickening part is that this horsehead ex-bartender will be collecting a retirement for the remainder of her life from a country that she despises and hates so much. The rest of us will be paying her health insurance and sending her a check each month for the rest of her miserable life.

Perhaps instead of buying a new centrifuge they should have invested in a license for TEAMs. IT would be much safer and they wouldn't need to try and justify their expense accounts....j/s

She lied continuously in an effort to make herself look better, and arranged for her spoiled brat of a daughter to basically inherit a million dollar fraudulent enterprise so that she never had to work a day in her life. They bought several from China if I am not mistaken. Last I heard they had seven, but maybe more. No Lulz here, hey just trying to be a first world power on a Temu budget.

If I am not mistaken they have several diesel subs. Hopefully the USN hunter-killers will put them on the bottom of the sea. As long as they are functional they represent a serious threat to shipping in the Gulf.

"You arrogant fricks all talk like you are either smarter than everyone else or you have insider info, neither of which are true. Why don't you just stay curious and try to be humble and not talk from a position of self-importance?"
People like this get their information from the voices in their head. Even their own have come out this week and said that Bill Clinton totally exonerated Trump from anything. Let's face it, if there was an ounce of truth in these allegations against him he would have already been imprisoned and executed, yet the Dems have never been able to find anything on him in regards to this Epstein mess. They were in office for the last four years and had every opportunity and still could find nothing. What a bunch of losers with sand in their hoohas.

re: Gas Prices Whiplash
Posted by DocYatesVA on 3/3/26 at 5:53 am to UptownJoeBrown
The prices were going to go up. We (who understand the economy) knew that they would be based upon the unrest over there, on top of the summer blend issues we see every March. We have become a net exporter of petroleum products, however it does not shield us from price increases when the Strait of Hormuz, which funnels 20% of the oil / gas each day for the world needs is being threatened by Iran. As long as they are lobbing missiles and threatening shipping, no insurance company is going to insure the ships that carry the goods, therefore the price of oil goes up. When the price goes up it does not matter if we are producing it, the companies are obliged by their stockholders to sale at the market price. It is a catch-22. If we want sustainable cheap oil / gas, the current regime in the ME that is threatening the supply must be taken out, and that is exactly what this administration is doing. I believe they will go back down in a few weeks as soon as this crisis is dealt with. If I have to pay a few extra cents at the pump to remind me that I did not vote for the Cackler in Chief, so be it.

There was an argument to be made that Israel was really the only immediate benefactor in the region from this war.
Then Iran began indiscriminately attacking Arab nations and forced the gulf states to make a choice. They chose the U.S. and Israel and it became clear this is a new age of regional political leadership and a unique opportunity never seen before in any of our lifetimes.
This is why you don’t react emotionally- positively or negatively- before the full picture comes into view."
I agree 100%. IF there is to ever be any semblance of peace, the bully at the table, Iran, had to be removed. Other nations there feared them and their ability to shut down the Strait at their discretion was a tool used to manipulate oil / gas prices. Does us no good to be energy independent if the world markets are being held hostage by these thugs. At least now the Ayatollah will be able to vote in the Dem primary this fall....

re: This plan would save social security *and* reduce elderly poverty. Your thoughts?
Posted by DocYatesVA on 2/26/26 at 6:27 am to Lou Pai
The real solution is to pick an age, say 35, and allow those above 35 to continue with the SS benefits they have been promised based upon what they have paid thus far. Then stop collecting the SS from paychecks. The government bites the bullet and funds what has been promised thus far until eventually those people are deceased. Those at 35 until retirement age can then take their 6.5 / 12% and invest it accordingly.
It is wrong for those about ready to reach retirement to not receive back the money they have been promised and paid into the system, unless the government wants to return it to them in one lump sum so it can be invested for recompense.

Did public K-12 go to utter shite before American universities or was it the other way around?"
No, I think the universities went first, and those graduates are now teachers, sent to indoctrinate K-12 with this idiocracy and anti-American BS.

They can't come out and do anything because most of them took money and signed an NDA forbidding them to talk about anything, lest they would be subject to paying back the money they got. That is why they are not writing books and making speeches. Greed, pure and simple greed. If there was anything just about this whole thing, they would have stood their grounds and sought persecution, and it would have happened given the current climate, but instead they opted to take the money and keep their mouths shut.
re: Stonetoss nails all of you 'conservatives' who support an organization that hates you
Posted by DocYatesVA on 2/9/26 at 5:28 am to Penrod
I found myself flipping back to catch commercials while watching curling (I must have been really hard up for something to watch). However, I wanted to express my disgust with an organization that openly flaunts their disdain for America, while proclaiming to be an American tradition. A halftime show, performed all in Spanish, with a deviant waving flags representing all of the countries which are sucking our country dry for the past four decades. And to hear the San Fran crowds cheering and offering accolades was just another statement to tell me that we have totally lost this country. I am not sure where we went wrong with the youth of this country but their have no idea of fact that they are throwing everything away at the altar of wokeness and pure ignorance. I shudder to think what my granddad would have thought if he had to endure that travesty of a half time show. Luckily for me the hot wings were ready and only had to catch about 1 minute of that tripe.

Would that be the same legal system that says it is illegal to interfere with an officer attempting to perform his / her duties? You mean the obvious violation of law being done in the name of "peaceful" protests against ICE? The same legal system that is turning a blind eye to these hired morons? That system?

I agree. I think from my studies that the CCP represents a much greater threat than Russian. The elitist attitude of the CCP and their leadership will eventually lead to a large scale threat to our existence.
re: ICE arrests Guatemalan man, convicted child sex offender, after Maryland prison release
Posted by DocYatesVA on 2/5/26 at 10:28 am to conservativewifeymom
I would like to think that they released him and notified ICE in an effort to forego taking care of the scumbag for the next 25 years, feeding him and providing him a comfortable place to reside. TBH, sending him back to his homeland might be worse than letting him live in a climate controlled prison with a guarantee of meals and cable TV for the next 25 years. If that is the case I can support it, however I hope the scumbag doesn't commit another abusive attack on a child. Perhaps instead of 25 years, he should have gotten castration and deportation.

Ole Miss has a pretty prestigious law school and a house full of lawyers. Nothing substantial (like the Rant was predicting) came of the previous infractions because Ole Miss stood their ground with the NCAA and told them to either prove it or shut the hell up. Nothing will occur here either. Kudos to Ole Miss, at least they have the cajones to stand up to these Pharisees.
