The locals everywhere in Florida would rejoice. We had a beach house in Pensacola for years. Every January and February those fat milk legged b!tches would be everywhere on every beach.

The locals own businesses and are dependent upon that tourist dollar. They’re really not concerned about how long the line for crab legs is at the local seafood buffet.
That’s the difference between locals and people who visit. The Canadian boycott cost me several grand.

It’s sort of a big blow to the South Florida economy. They were a big part of snowbird season.

The Florida Keys are not the place for an inexperienced person to attempt to learn how to operate a rental sailboat. The bottoms there are sharp limestone, very unforgiving. A novice sailing there will find a way to make sailboat and some limestone come together in a bad way

Even with experience boating around there is tricky. It goes from deep water to shallow rocks quickly. Boats get destroyed there all the time. There’s plenty of captains that can take out groups as small 2-4. The water is the best part of KW, but a highly recommend renting a boat with a captain.

Yes. Buffett used to live next door and Louie's Backyard used to put his dinner over the fence for him while he was in his hammock. Buffett gives Louie's a shoutout in his Hurricane Season song.

I saw Jimmy in there about a month before he played those two concerts at the amphitheater at Truman Waterfront.
Louie’s is good, I always thought that afterdeck bar had so much potential but they underutilized it. Food and service wise I don’t think it would be a standout in other destinations. Its location is phenomenal.

The Saints used to train there. The media used to call it Zero Beach because there was nothing to do there

How long ago was that? I recall the saints training in Wisconsin like 20+ years ago. All of Florida is way different than before H Andrew. I don’t know how much Vero has changed but it seems like it checks a bunch of boxes. I’d have no interest in living in Broward or Dade counties.

He formed a commission to formulate rules to "clean up" the sport.

That commission was the NCAA

Exactly. Unlimited NIL is killing college sports

Attempts to limit income is one reason why we have antitrust laws.
Can you imagine how butt hurt you’d be if the government put a limit on how much people can charge for a hour of lawn mowing services?
I mean if you were in the lawn mowing industry and I’m not suggesting that you are.

Hopefully, when CFB sees how most people want this, they'll fall in line. I think he should have changed the transfer rule back to what it was, like the NCAA said it would do when covid ended

The transfer rule was dismantled by the Ohio v. NCAA ruling in USDC in West Virginia in 2023 (?) The court ruled that transfer limits violated antitrust laws because they restrain free trade.

If the NCAA is really a "monopoly," then the term has lost all relevant meaning.

I don’t think SCOTUS claimed the NCAA was a monopoly. They just declared that NCAA rules restrict free trade in violation of the Sherman Act. You don’t have to be a monopoly to violate the Sherman Act.

Some random judge will rule against it and we'll be back where we were. The NCAA completely abdicated their responsibility an we are where we are.

In the Alston v. NCAA SCOTUS case Justice Kavanaugh wrote in the majority decision that basically everything the NCAA does violates antitrust laws. SCOTUS voted 9-0 in Alston.
This Hail Mary of trying to turn back time is laughable. Trump’s pardon of Tina Peters had a better chance of actually happening.

Why dont we have monkeys in our forests and swamps. That would be pretty cool.

I’m pretty sure Florida does.

Absolutely. It seems incredibly rare to find a woman under 40 without a tattoo.

I’m in a law school building every day. There may be tats I don’t see, but the percentage of females with tats appears to be fairly low. As for campus in general, it’s a bit of a mix.

Been a really rough year for Colorado. We timed spring break pretty good and got some decent conditions in Winter Park.

It’s been a horrible season. We have gotten lucky on a few snow days. WP had some decent snow last night. We might try a few final runs this week there. I’ll be there anyway.

We typically eat, walk, and drink. I’ve never had a bad meal there. Some really great steak houses there imo.

Clear water is important, but the Keys are out of my price range. We're young and don't want to move to a retirement community but Miami isn't my thing either

My in laws bought in the Vero Beach area recently. It seems to have all the second home sort of stuff people would want.

Cafe Sole is my favorite restaurant in Key West.

Cafe Sole is really good. That’s the place people in the biz on the island go on special occasions. Lacks a bit of the ambiance and feeling as some other places. My go to for taking first time visitors for dinner is often Blue Heaven. They do a great breakfast but the wait ain’t worth the experience these days. For Breakfast I usually take people to either Hot Tin Roof or Banana Cafe.

Two good restaurants are Louie’s Backyard and Latitudes, the latter of which you get to by boat.

Lattitides on SSK has ambience and the views, but the food is basically a heat and serve operation with the food being plated very nicely.
The two teachers from Kenner at least filmed their exploits.

Working at a university this sounds like the kids we encounter that were homeschooled. Their failure to adapt mirrors child abuse symptoms.
