Baseball is closer to the Olympic sports than it is to football
Can't speak for other places, but UT baseball is only behind football in terms of fan interest and spending.

Big 3 sports is a myth
Big 3’s a thing. Texas fans are frustrated by football & apathetic about basketball. But, the baseball drought…that one hurts. Hoping this year changes that.

Little surprised by this.

those are the 3 teams that are willing to spend more on football than education.
So we just making shite up now? Texas' entire athletic expenditures equates to less than 1% of our system's budget.

Unisex Blue 84 White Texas Longhorns First SEC Game Matchup T-Shirt
Dude, it's not that they printed a shirt, it's that they got the conference footprint wrong!

That’s the most Aggie shite ever
It did prompt one of the better recall statements in recent memory though...

"We would like to apologize for a T-shirt that has come under fire for its inaccuracies. Many members of the media, especially those connected to other schools in Texas, have insinuated that Texas A&M made these shirts, and that Texas A&M doesn't know geography. That's simply not true."

Commemorative 2025 Shirt
This gives us all a moment to remember the shirts Aggie printed to celebrate their move to the SEC.

Nielsen releases the Top 10 college football TV markets of 2025-26
No surprise Austin didn't make the list. Don't think we'll ever be a college football town.

Maybe y’all can get rid of Cohen sooner rather than later, and truly get right.
Step one in finally flushing out the snake oil salesmen at Auburn was getting rid of Leath as president. Step two was firing Hugh. There's only one more domino to fall.

I miss seeing both of those matchups.

I guess there isn't anything to gain from scheduling it though?
Agree with both of these sentiments. BTW, love Reata steakhouse and some Sul Ross rodeo.

FWIW, heard Kirby's looking to bring back Stets and reignite the magic.

Eliminate CCGs (happening anyway eventually)
1st Saturday Dec.- Round 1
2nd Saturday Dec.- Round 2
3rd Saturday Dec.- Round 3
NYD- Championship
Agreed. That's what I posted earlier about shortening the CFB season to avoid the NFL playoffs altogether.

ETA: I'd be for going back to 11 games (8 SEC + 3 OOC) to improve the regular season & doing away with CCG's. Would also fix the problem of players opting out of the playoff to not miss the transfer window.

Who would have thunk putting a playoff game on mid-week would bring in fewer viewers?
Should they have scheduled it for 2:30 on Saturday and drawn 2 million viewers instead?

Texas went almost a decade (2008-2017) without having a single OL player drafted.
Don’t even get me started on the OL at the end of Mack’s tenure. Still have nightmares where I’m sitting in the north EZ of DKR watching them & Gilbert self-destruct.

Our O line is the biggest piece I’m concerned about right now
Specifically, the interior OL needs to be stronger and play nastier. We need TE & WR’s to be more physical and hold blocks longer. And, we need a more durable RB. That combo is what Sark prioritized in the portal and will automatically make our pass pro 1000% better.

That's bad scheduling by the CFP or whoever made that call.
Thursday/Friday prime time was the best option available. Guess they could have scheduled them for 11 AM on Sat & Sunday, but even then, NFL pregame coverage would’ve cost them massive viewership.

It’s unbelievably stupid. Amazing that no one in charge of CFB seems to give a shite about the product. Shortsighted.
You put Purdue-Wisconsin MBB or some other sacrificial lamb up against the NFL. Not the CFP ESPN paid all that money for in rights & promo. That would be suicidal business.

That said, if the CFB season didn’t last so long, they could go back to their usual slots.

You think the ratings were bad just see how they’d be trying to compete with an NFL playoff game.
Yep. Niners-Eagles drew 41 million viewers & Bills-Jags almost 33 million.
