We outplayed Bama in Athens but gave it away with a dropped TD pass and a missed blocking assignment on a 4th down. Either of those mistakes not made and we win. Bama won’t get that lucky this time.

It’s not possible to not punish a CG loser in every case. Say number 2 plays number 6 and number 6 loses. But Number 7 plays number 9 and wins its CG. You reward 7 by moving it to 5. Now number 6 becomes number 7 and complains it was punished.

UGA scenario exposes a weakness in the current plan. UGA actually benefits from losing to Bama this year because it keeps them from playing in the SECCG. Yet they still get a bye if they stay in the top 4. Nice for us but logically is weird.

I would rather not make it and play a first round game against an 11 or 12 seed than make it even if we win. The 11 or 12 seed would be easier and less chance for injury

It’s not that he played that poorly, it’s the 30 minutes of hype declaring him a “generational talent” before the game. He needs time and will be above average. That said, from the constant Manning babbling, it sound like Ellen is the better QB.

Some of the transfers in come from other SEC teams. So to really be accurate you would need adjust for transfers out.

With the conference expansion and the new free agent environment, I believe this jumbled mess of teams (at least a couple of losses each) will be the new norm. Two or three are top, two or three are bottom, and stew in between.
