I'd like to add to OP that the entire DLine needs to be included. DE's have been stout, but we expected some of that. The DTs have been holding it down and is one of the biggest positive position surprises on the depth chart.

Gio Paez Appreciation Thread

Posted by NOLATigerinBR504 on 10/22/24 at 12:31 pm
Man has been holding down the middle of the day for a while now. Him and Shand have really been nice surprises this semester. In every match, they are playing well.

Dennis Allen

Posted by NOLATigerinBR504 on 9/17/24 at 4:57 pm
Is there any way to extend Dennis Allen? I've never seen the Saints office this good before, and he his Derek Carr firing on all cylinders. The defense has done a bang up job too. He is trending toward a 14-3 season. The question, it appears, is that do we offer him an extension right now? I don't want another to scoop him up after our run. We could easily tack on 2/3 more years on the contract before anyone else decides too.
Would like to bump this thread

Take a swing around the parish with one of five BREC golf courses. The 18 hole Santa Maria course for a challenge, or the 9 hole challenge of Webb/Dumas for the more casual golfer. An easy swing is City Park or you can try out the newly renovated, J.S. Clark. BREC's courses are designed to challenge every level of golfer, from beginner to pro. So come and get into the swing of things. I love booking my tee time online at golf.brec.com, that's golf.brec.com

Choose Something Downtown or Off College Dr to be closer to campus, In my opinion- but none a nice hotel- Renaissance Hotel

The Renaissance Hotel has what some call the best kept secret in town. Tallulah Restaurant in the Renaissance Hotel. Tullulah is not a hotel restaurant. It is a restaurant, one of which that just happens to be situated in a hotel. It has a nice casual, upscale dining experience that nobody really knows about. It is perfect for that business lunch or that elegant night on the town.

I would say to stay at the Renaissance Hotel and go to Tullulah the night before imo.

Could DA go to LSU?

Posted by NOLATigerinBR504 on 1/4/24 at 11:49 am
Regardless of my personal opinion of DA (I like him), many of you have expressed your displeasure with our head guy. If DA is starting to get his seat hot, he probably will look at the LSU DC role. He has NFL experience, which is what our stars on defense want. He can turn Harold Perkins into a Demario Davis type linebacker, and coach the young pups at DB to be similar to Marcus Lattimore, Tyran Mathieu, and Bryan Brees.

I'm wondering if DA is seriously considering this because he knows of how angry (albeit unwarranted) the fanbase is. Only an hour move up the river that would be a good move for LSU, but would be a loss for the Saints.
Man inherited a dumpster fire franchise, that had not won a championship since 2009. He has also taken a below par QB to an above par QB with a division title. At the end of the day, all you can ask for is to play meaningful football in January. Shaun Peyton did not win a divisional title this early in his career in NO. Further, he was behind all of our good defenses the past 5 years, not Shaun. For the playoff game, I trust DA will get the team ready.

Barrego Ball

Posted by NOLATigerinBR504 on 11/14/23 at 8:01 pm
What a difference a coach makes. Barrengo knows how to coach this team up. We have 3 legimaite 6th man of the year candidates with Barrengo as the "head guy." This is giving me shades of Alvin Gentry era in the SKC right now - we are good. Should we continue to make Willie sit out until our win streak stops?

Well Carolina doesn't own their 1st round pick this year, so there's that.

What about if we sent the same package to Atlanta in exchange for Desmond Ridder and maybe another first rounder on top? Ridder and Denbrock were both at Cincinnati together too

#1 Priority for the Front Office

We need a changeup at quarterback, specifically with a young one. The Panthers have the worst record in the NFL. Lets trade them both Derek Carr and Jameis Winston in return for the #1 pick in the draft. With the #1 pick, lets get Jayden Daniels and have him as the franchise QB. This would solve our salary cap problem with paying DC $40 million dollars a year. Fire Dennis Allen and hire Mike Denbrock as HC that way Daniels doesn't have to switch offenses and can continue his success.

Do you really need that many local shows outside of football season?
Once the saints and lsu football are done it’s a tough listen in the offseasons

The only time I listen is in the car to and from work and not everyday

I’m not searching for that content on other mediums eithe

Yeah it gets pretty rough when OTB goes into movie rankings in May and June. Its still better than the national shows though. All they talk about are the lakers, jets, etc

OP’s post history is pretty suspect. His last thread was pushing Tallulah restaurant using almost verbatim the language from their radio spots.

His last post before this thread was defending Jimmy Ott.

Maybe he actually works there and is drunk shitposting or something.

A long-time listener. I do like everyone there and think they do a good job, especially Moscona lol. Would like for them to change it up every once in a while on the station it is very monotonous with the same commercials.

Baton Rouge's Best Kept Secret

Will not be a secret much longer. Tallulah Restaurant in the Renaissance Hotel. Tullulah is not a hotel restaurant. It is a restaurant, one of which that just happens to be situated in a hotel. It is perfect for that business lunch or that elegant night on the town. 10/10 experience.
No James "Jimmy" Ott (aka the "Ottfather") slander will be tolerated. He is the best in the business. If you doubt me, just go to Jolie Pearl on a Thursday night during football season. He's a class act and knows what he's talking about.

In re lottery picks

Posted by NOLATigerinBR504 on 4/21/23 at 1:52 pm
Are we in the running for a lottery pick this year? Or are we just good enough to where we don't qualify for one but just bad enough not to make the playoffs? Would love to draft another Zion/Alvarado type player with unlimited upside potential

E.J. liddell??

Posted by NOLATigerinBR504 on 4/16/23 at 8:05 pm
Anyone have any updates on his progression this year? He should have seen way more minutes rather than just sit on the bench. He was really productive at Ohio State, as he averaged 33.2PPG in only 19.4MPG during his senior campaign. Young guy, only 2022. It blows my mind that he did not see the court this year. Hopefully next year we will see him
We need to trade him, plain and simple. He doesn't want to be here. I think a great trade would be to send him to the Lakers back for AD. 1 for 1. AD has already won a chip in LA and he would be open to returning to the team that drafted him and raised him in early days of his NBA career. Anthony Davis would mold well with BI and CJ.

Its a win win. Zion would get his big LA market and we would get a superstar who wants to return to the original team that drafted him. Not much of a hit on the salary cap either. At the end of the day, the best move on the chess board here for the Pels is to pursue this move and get rid of someone who doesn't want to be here and replace him with a superstar that is familiar with the organization.
Probably so. The GSWs could not match up with Z. Nuggets would be a huge problem though.
Its clear as day the Zion does not want to be in Nola. No superstars ever want to stay here, and if they give us a chance, like AD, we can't get enough supporting players around him because they don't want to come to New Orleans. Our "world-renown" MDs on the staff are not living up to all of the hullabaloo. Local radio rumblings are insinuating what I am saying as well. At what point does Adam Silver & Co. pull the plug on a NOLA team and move the team to Seattle, St Louis, Austin, etc?

It pains me to say it, but maybe NOLA is not a basketball city. Also, I don't think our world class cuisine is helping either for player fitness. Can't have players going to Parkway and get a roast beef po boy with extra debris. Downvote away all you want, but I just don't think NOLA is a basketball city. Please try to change my mind.
Maybe the food service is what is wrong with the pelicans?
Obviously, not with our coveted first round pick from the Broncos. I'm thinking 3/4 rounds? Local guy hailing from Ponchatoula and the mighty Green Wave.

Or should we go after Leonard Fournette?
It seems obvious to me, and other die-hard pelicans fans, that something is wrong in the locker room. Is team morale very low from losing so much recently, or has there been internal quarrels about the line-up selections from Willie? Is there finger-pointing going on as to who is to blame for the recent woes?

The fact that we hired the supposedly best NBA medical staff to do a bang up job with this team has been disappointing, as the ball club is reeling from nicks and bruises in our starting five and bench (see Jose Alvarado).

Do y'all still have trust in Willie, the medical staff, or the direction of the franchise?
Crews will be tGOAT if he brings home the CWS in Omaha
You do realize that Carr isn't going for $30-35M a year anymore. I project that he would sign for $15-20M to touch tips with Dennis Allen again. They were a good fit in Oakland and Carr will not ask for the price tag. I think it could be a home run pickup.

Saints Building Back Better

Posted by NOLATigerinBR504 on 2/16/23 at 8:40 am
With Carr being released from the Raiders, we can now acquire him at a non-astronomical price. If we signed him to a short 1-2 year deal, what is the big issue? He is a step up from Dalton and Jameis, and, if things don't work out, we can have a real shot at Hendon Hooker next year.

I know Moscona hates this idea, but I think he is missing the point. We are not trading for Carr. We are now longer giving up "capital" besides a generic salary in a 1-2 year contract. Thoughts? I love Moscona, but I think he is completely wrong here.
