I thought there could be no direct contact with the player until the paperwork was filed by the school. I doubt he is in Oxford.
I think we as a fan base are going to be shocked just to have a competent OL compared to the last 4 years. We don’t need a dominant OL just competent would be a huge improvement. It has been sickening to play lower caliber schools that had better Olines. I think Southeastern had a better Oline than LSU.
Team Talent and Team Chemistry aren’t the same thing. Hopefully the culture change can happen quickly but this team is made up of very few players who played together last year. How soon can SL start throwing with the WRs? Who will be the leader in the football Ops before the coaches? Who will be the leader when adversity strikes?

Thanks again for kicking him off the team Les
To be clear. Les didn’t kick him off the team. The LSU administration kicked him out of school. This was patently unfair since other students at LSU aren’t even drug tested much less kicked out of school for drugs.
It did work out best for HB7 to get his life turned around. Les had him on second chance 11 or 12 at that point.
I’m leaning toward this but a little more in this hand can make me lean the other way.

It’s called posturing in negotiations.
I want the ole miss/lsu offense to put up 48 on Miami and Ole Miss still lose because the defense and special team are terrible and Pete makes a bonehead decision at the end.

Great Great Grandmother French stuttered. Birth Certificate official thought she said Ffrench.
There are a lot of limitations on enforcing a non compete agreement. Federal law has sided with employees right to work overwhelmingly. Number 3 is the one that sets him free. They are just trying to keep him working for them. Can't do it.
per gemini search
In states that allow noncompetes, courts typically won't enforce them unless they meet the following "three-prong" test:
Duration: Usually 6 months to 2 years. Anything longer is often seen as "punitive."
Geography: Must be limited to the area where the employer actually does business (e.g., a 10-mile radius vs. a "worldwide" ban).
Legitimate Business Interest: The company must prove they are protecting trade secrets or specific client relationships, not just trying to stop you from working for a competitor.

Too early to tell
And way too early to tell the quality of our portal and recruiting classes. Best evaluation will be in October thru January 2027(hopefully). Brian Kelly and LSU were the portal kings until about game 5 this year. While Lane Kiffin and little brother Ole Miss took some FCS QB no one had ever heard of before October.

Maybe so. He is just saying they are taking a carefully planned approach because we have more starting roster holes than most, which means we have to spread money around more.
And I agree. Like he said, look at Indiana. Look at ole miss last year.
I am tired of coaches relying on media or trying to win the preseason Twitter awards instead of just doing their own homework ala Cignetti.
Thank you. Worded much better than I did to express my thoughts.
Moneyball vs the Yankees

I think there are two schools of thought in this NIL/Portal world in which we live.
1) There is the Yankees approach of throwing money at whoever is considered the top players available (Texas Tech, Miami, and LSU this past season)
and
2) the money ball approach of building the best overall roster with the funds available (Indiana, Ole Miss in the last cycle)
It appears LSU is taking more of a moneyball approach this year to rebuild the entire roster including depth due to the dire state of the offensive roster.

Additionally this new staff isn't just plugging a few holes to play for a National Championship next year. LK is having to completely rebuild the Offensive roster with starters and depth. It is going to take more than one portal cycle to fix the disaster that was BK.
He made some amazing plays by himself with significant plays also made by lacy and the WR. But if the Qb doesn’t pull a Houdini/Mahommes they don’t even get the chance.
Last night wasn’t about great coaching by ole miss.

It was possibly the best single performance by a QB in the playoffs that I have ever seen. Burrow was great in the playoffs but he didn’t have to do it by himself.

I once heard a pastor say, “ We don’t steal sheep. But we do grow grass!”
Must be the B league officials too. Officials dominating the 2nd qtr

No coverage. He’s just flinging it. Missing our opt out dbs and lbs
Attempt is generous on your part

Ole Miss would have had a better shot of making a run in the playoffs if they let Kiffin coach. Also, it would have hurt LSU for early national signing day. Very short sighted of them.
They got all up in their feelings.
