And Officer Gillis suffered “severe abrasions to his legs and arms and had to be transported to the hospital” when Scottie Scheffler “rammed him.”

Everyone agrees at the time how lucky Scottie was to be famous and well liked or he would have been rail roaded but trumped injury reports and accident descriptions. Yet now when half the country doesn’t like the victim we aren’t taking any of the typical police CYA tactics with a grain of salt?

Similar situation here. Officer walking around after in good spirits and released from the hospital the same day. They realize they fricked up and all of the sudden start trying make innocuous hospital jargon sound like a life threatening situation
Either Texas will need to change their law (“Texas schools get your state to change its law or enjoy being part of the Texas college football league”) or the federal government preempts it as part of its legislation.

It’s going to require something at the federal level regardless. Both because the anti trust rules are federal and because the states will continue to just race to the bottom trying to give their schools an edge.
When Congress passes an anti-trust exemption specific to college athletics and/or colleges acknowledge they are employees and agree to a CBA with rules
Bryson and Rahm sound like they’re hostages in that video Jesus. Someone check to see if they were signaling SOS in Morse code
Yeah 80% is more than good enough to reserve judgment until you see it yourself. That’s well within the sort of margin of error for a really good show with just a few reviewers not really getting it
That’s why they made it performance based and broader than just Brooks. I don’t think they really expect the other three to jump.

But there’s plenty of opportunities that you only get if you have prior past achievements. Exemptions to events if you’ve won majors. Tour status for years if you win an event. FedEx cup money if you play well.

By tying it to sporting accomplishments I think they give themselves at least a colorable defense to anti-trade type accusations
Marco Penge and Si Woo reportedly turned down 8 figure offers to join LIV in order to stay on the PGA tour.

That means that either (I) the word on the street is the competitive product is so bad that some guys are willing to turn down $10m to not play there, (II) part of the 8 figure offer is equity take in the LIV teams which guys are starting to realize is worthless or (III) the PGA equity thing is real enough that guys are thinking the money will be more or less a wash down the road.

Probably some combination of the three. But regardless I think a big reason LIV has had so much trouble poaching established PGA players the past couple of years is the establishment of the equity program. The players at least seem to think it’s pretty valuable.
Rahm’s contract is allegedly much more punitive and airtight than the ones signed by the initial defectors. At a minimum the word is he would have to give back every dollar he’s been paid.

Brooks allegedly doesn’t have to give up any of the money he’s already received.

Bryson and Cam signed the same contract as Brooks. I don’t think Cam will go because of the Australia stuff. Bryson though…..I don’t think he goes but I think he’ll play it up. He and Phil are the only remotely big time American names left on LIV.
I think it’s primarily a way to avoid restrain of trade lawsuits while still allowing Brooks back on tour. They couldn’t make it someone who one five majors because that’s too obvious.

This way it’s ostensibly not a targeted amnesty but it is in practicality. And if they get one of the other three guys who are eligible then great, it’s a bonus because they would take all three back.

An added benefit is it gives Bryson extra negotiating leverage in his contract discussions so at the very least he bleeds LIV for another $200m. Also forces LIV to be more and more restrictive in their contracts, further undermining their claims of giving their players so much freedom
It’s a brilliant move from the tour. You get Brooks back on and you force Rahm’s hand. You set a precedent that you can do this whenever you want.

But also structuring is a one time amnesty, so if for some reason LIV starts sniffing around offering major bonuses for defectors there’s no permanent path back to membership if you’re suspended. The PGA would have to choose to open another window
And no one gives a shite about about FCS football.

Also nothing epitomizes the cognitive dissonance of college footballs power brokers better than wanting to expand the playoffs to 24 teams while at the same time going through a dog and pony show trying to convince us that army vs navy matters.
Just an absolute stake in the heart of college football. All that will matter is the playoffs. So fricking dumb.

They’re going to kill the golden goose trying to squeeze every penny they can out of it
Same with the Odoegaard and Eze discourse. Myles Lewis Skelly.

Don’t get me started on some of the Arteta stuff.

We’re the clear number one team in Europe and the betting favorite in all four remaining competitions and you still have fans bitching. At least let the season play out
Use Caraboa and meaningless CL matches to get Havertz back up to fitness.

I think if we get a healthy Havertz back in form a lot of the attacking issues will be significantly improved
Calm down. No one really wanted Mendoza or Chambliss last year. So much of a college QBs success is scheme, coaching, and surrounding talent
Lane is going to revolutionize the sport. 10 skill position players on the field. Shades of Trindon Holiday at DE.
Wake up at 6:00 am two weeks before the date you want and hope. You’ll have to pay a $20 early reservation fee (per person).

It’s going to be borderline impossible to get a prime weekend tee time during that stretch. If you really want to play it you’ll have to play on a weekday or try to walk on as a single (be ready to wait 3-4 hours).
Backs up the eye test, which was we were decent at tackle and center but had terrible guard play.
Sad that the LIV bros are reduced to trying to disparage TGL because they know that’s more of a direct LIV competitor than the PGA. And TGL is still doing better
Mickey is going to have this place in shambles with some of his offseason moves.
