Ah - let me help you here. You see, people that pay taxes have had enough of paying with no representation. So no matter how much more blood a leech wants…….a leech is still a leech, w/ no say in how much more blood is available to said leech. So - move to Venezuela if you don’t like it

I'm assuming the people that pay taxes are going to be doing all the work, manning the register and stocking the shelves, cooking the food and busing and washing the dishes, etc since we are doing away with all the "leeches" right?

Because he is really frickin old

They agreed to spend only as much as they could borrow.

If only that was how it was
quote:

No, we want food stamps, housing stipends, Obama phones and whatever the frick else they give welfare Queens who are absolutely not the rightful recipients of our tax dollars

That's such a miniscule drop in the bucket compared to what's spent on social security and Medicare. It's bizarre you are worried about the pennies that are spent compared to the real money
quote:

Damn it - I was hoping for a default - the US needs to burn - the sooner the better - the gop are cowards

I'm guessing you don't have a 401k or any money tied up in anything if that's the case
What did they cave on, paying the bill for what they already spent?

If you want an EV, go buy one. But don't get the government to make the EPA regs such that everyone is forced to buy one eventually.

Pretty sure the EPA isnt regulating air quality to sell cars. Perhaps they, shocker, are trying to get clean air?
Meh, growing up I remember there being kids only events at various places. I can't remember if it was explicitly said parents not allowed but it was implied at the least. It's okay to have places for kids to grow up and learn independence.

Now it being wrapped in the framework of sexuality is another bag of worms but just having a place for kids to have a supervised good time without parents around isn't a bad thing imo.

We need to be honest and introspective: there is basically zero difference in the behavior of the hardcore DeSantis and Trump people.

Nah, DeSantis supporters are concerned with defeating Biden and actually governing the country with conservative policies. Trump supporters are concerned with frankly idealizing the man as a near godlike figure, the only one who can save us from the deep state globalist. Never mind that he didn’t do it his first term but this time it will be differen(T). And never mind that he is going further and further to the left in trying to attack DeSantis, he’s still infallible.

There’s absolutely a difference between the two, and the fact that you can’t see it speaks all you need to know.
quote:

The truth is, a large number of Trump’s supporters aren’t conservatives. They want the theatrics of Trump and not much else.

Agreed. They'll never admit it but their support for Trump is just for like you said the theatrics. So long as he keeps making the libs melt they'll excuse anything else he does.
Is it legal in Indiana? If so she did the right thing if that's what the girl and her parents wanted. Is her age what makes this news I'm not getting it. It would be beyond cruel to force a 10 year old to give birth if she didn't want to.

Ron running this year was the absolute worst thing to happen to the Republican Party in 2024 and likely extending into 2028. The Trump faction of the GOP is here forever and ever. This wasn't a one trick pony. It isn't going away no matter WHAT happens. I'm sure the Ron! people are aware of that but sometimes, I think just losing is the GOP's natural preferred position.

That's such an insane take. Y'all would rather lose with Trump than not cast your vote for him. That's worshipping a politician and about as swampy as it gets.

Your country should come first, not stroking the ego of one man.

Hes been running for a day, how many flags would you expect?
The MAGA crowd it seems has turned into a bunch of LARPers pretending they are in a battle against a deep state bogeyman and conspiracies around every corner. They've traded in actual politics and governing for entertainment, and just so long as they get some of those sweet lib tears all is well.

re: Trump's endorsement

Maybe endorsements don't actually mean very much and people spend way too much time worrying about who endorses who when it has little bearing on the outcomes..
It’s because he’s part of the GOPe WEF and something about PAUL RYAN
Trump seems to be focused on DeSantis. I wish he was focused on the future
quote:

The Democrats want appetizers, a huge meal, some expensive wine, dessert, and coffee afterwards. Republicans are trying to cut out the dessert and Dems are freaking out about it.

I agree. It's not just the dessert though. We need to be ordering a salad not the appetizer, filet, tons of sides, and then yes the dessert too.

DeSantis appears to be for this. Trump talked the talk going into his presidency but the debt kept going up year over year under him.
So why didn't he do it while he was in office? It seems a tad crazy to think he'd do anything different this time.
quote:

By whom? Any of the Republicans currently in the House? Doubtful.

So we can never cut spending because some previous congress already passed a budget?

Please don't vote.

I'm guessing the congress over the prior year. If the Republican congressman didn't advocate for cuts then the spending is on them too. Like I said earlier I heard it mentioned in more than one thread that one of DeSantis's faults was advocating for cutting social security and Medicare, two of the largest expenditures of the federal government. That should tell you everything you need to know about how serious some are about cuts.

I don't know why that means no cuts can occur either, not sure where that comes from.
Ok cool but this money has already been spent. Either we increase the debt limit or we default on the bill for the dinner weve already eaten. Id prefer to think the US isn't a deadbeat like that.

Honestly the idea of the debt limit doesn't make sense. Pay your bills, but also don't order so much. I found it odd though I read in a thread the other day someone who no doubt is against raising the debt was also against cutting social security and Medicare. That doesn't make sense to me
quote:

DeSantis voted to cut Social Security and Medicare

I heard this brought up yesterday but isn't the right also pushing not to raise the debt ceiling? You would think they would be on board with cutting two of the largest government programs?
Matt Gaetz brown noses Trump? No wai

So you don’t care about that?

I’m thinking you are misunderstanding my post. I’m not saying that DeSantis is guilty of this. But that is exactly what Trump is doing nonstop.

Classy response. Now let’s hope DeSantis doesn’t try to sling mud at Trump for no reason like he has been recently.

Don talks all that but he's been the one attacking Ron "DeSanctimonious" nonstop 24/7. He's scared and it shows
quote:

He’s a politician who will say whatever is politically expedient to get elected

It's amazing someone can say this about DeSantis while supporting Trump at the same time. I mean anyone with a head on their shoulders can see that's exactly what Trump is doing right now.

re: USA national debt by decade

And I just read in a different thread that we shouldn't vote for DeSantis because he wants to cut government spending on Social Security and Medicare...

quote:

DeSantis went even further than Paul Ryan: Ron DeSantis backed deep cuts to Social Security and Medicare while in Congress

So he's fiscally conservative? It's amazing I'm going to go out on a limb and assume you are against raising the debt ceiling as well? And yet you think it's bad to cut spending on two of the federal governments largest programs?

You can't have your cake and eat it too. Either you want to shrink the government or not, and by the sounds of it you don't. Ron is fiscally conservative, that's not a bad thing.
quote:

Largely because he forms his opinions based on polls or perception of what people want to hear. Hillary Clinton does that too.

You can't be serious? And you're going to vote for Trump?

Lord some of y'all are beyond belief
