I've never understood why this is even an issue for head coaches. Seems you would always want the past stars of your program around. But it is constantly discussed and apparently some coaches do a poor job with this
Some coaches are a bit tyrannical and insecure so don’t like any even potential outside influence in the locker room.

What an idiotic thread.
Championship or failure?? In year 1?
Why do LSU fans do this to themselves?
re: At what point does a school just forego high school recruiting

I think we will still see intense recruiting battles for the elite HS players, ones expected to come in and contribute immediately.
The 3 star and a lot 4 star will get passed over by big schools and told to sign with mid level programs and develop for a year or 2 then get recruited out of the portal.

How bout we actually beat them a few times, maybe win 4/5 or something before we bury them.

Because it became obsolete when the Sovient Union fell.
It should have been dissolved and new treaties formed at that time.

re: how angry are you as you realize probably 90%+ of government spending is fraudulent?

At this point I would be shocked to learn that any government spending, even just a single penny was spent legitimately.
re: Iranian protestors getting beat with clubs in the UK by police

Are they beating protesters FOR the Iranian regime or beating protesters AGAINST the Iranian regime?
It’s the UK so I am guessing the latter

Getting out of NATO is a huge win regardless of what happens with Greenland.
NATO should have went away with the Warsaw Pact

Anyone defending the coaching at this point has to just trolling and should be ignored.
People like you would still have Curley Hallman coaching the football team.

I think a strong argument can be made that that is part of coaching

Because you (the collective "you") also demand that LSU (or your favorite college team) win at the highest level. Coaches in states like Florida, Texas, Tennessee can use the no state income tax climate as a recruiting advantage. Come to Tennessee and pay no state income tax on the $2M you're going to earn....or go to LSU and give the state 3% of that. It's the same recruiting advantage businesses in certain states use to attract talented people in other lines of work
Then eliminate state income tax for everyone not just college athletes.

If there is one thing that will make me just completely give up college sports and never give another penny to LSU again, it’s this.
Those kids make money, let them pay taxes like the rest of us.

re: One argument on trans in girls sports that has me confused
Posted by Pikes Peak Tiger on 1/14/26 at 8:27 am to Padme
My question for the left.
If we take this argument to it’s logical conclusion, should there be NO gender based sports al all?
Meaning, of males and females are the same and gender is just a social construct, should we eliminate ALL gender based sports and just have sports?
No men’s and women’s basketball, just basketball. No men’s or women’s swimming, soccer, just swimming and soccer?
No baseball for guys and softball for girls anyone can play either?
And if so… how will that workout for girls?
To me you cannot argue that there are no differences between biologic males and females while at the same time arguing for separate gender based sports.

Lane and Weis wanted him at Ole Miss
Seems like they both really like him. That’s enough for me, they know what they are doing.

More of an ultra violent anti-western but based on real events. Some of the characters were real people doing some of the things depicted in the book
Also about the nature of man and his relationship to war and violence and philosophical issues like weather a person can ultimately find redemption.
