re: Lane comments on transfers and CBB senior night participation

Lane Kiffin has transferred three times in the last seven seasons.
He has increased his salary 8.5X.
I don't think "what a great system we have now, NCAA" means what we think it means, but I'm pretty sure Lane knows exactly what it means.

It does seem that way. I'm getting tired of the tech bros posting to Substack about their 10X productivity gains and claiming "APOCALYPSE NOW!" while the rest of the working class is clearly struggling to get the tools to perform basic tasks reliably, and that assumes their companies even have any makings of organized programs to roll out AI use at all. Most don't.
I'm not sad one bit about the collapse and restructuring of American media and journalism in general, but this is one area where decent reporting and skepticism of claims would help most workers (and executives, frankly) understand what might actually be going on.
We often say "the stock market is not the economy". Well, Silicon Valley and software in general is a lousy proxy for how most people work and get work done.

This clears the way for Curley Hallman to be pardoned for his crimes.
Also, kudos to Nate Newton. The man was speeding down the interstate with almost 200 pounds of pot in the back of his pickup. Being Stoner Santa Claus should get you celebrated, not incarcerated.

I think Iverstine’s Butcher Shop in Baton Rouge carries some Feliciana’s Best products. Not sure if they carry the chocolate milk, but they would probably stock it if you asked. Great folks at Iverstine.

The media narrative when Saban was hired was all about his salary. He was paid Bobby Bowden money without Bobby Bowden results, the third or fourth highest paid coach with just one conference title to his name (and in the MAC!)
Another big talking point at the time was that Michigan State did not attempt to counter LSU’s offer and practically escorted him to the airport. That was a little concerning.
I don’t remember if the often-repeated line about no coaches getting on the plane in Lansing was a big deal or not at the time. I do remember that Morris Watts turned down the chance to follow Saban to LSU as his OC.
At the time, LSU desperately needed hope. Spurrier and Fulmer were running away from the rest of the SEC after Gene Stallings retired at Bama. We needed lightning and we got it.

Bama? nah. NFL.
Mickey Loomis has probably called Lane already to gauge interest.

Just two metrosexuals talking football on a rural Mississippi tarmac while wearing sportcoats cut from the upholstery of their grandmothers’ sofas.
Nothing to see here.

This is Louisiana. There’s a good possibility that my DAD married a stripper.
Your analogy might work better if it was “So, Louisiana just married the ethics lawyer”

If he knows he is not staying in Oxford but hasn't decided which outside offer to accept, there is ZERO reason to go on ESPN. None. There is no negotiating leverage to be had. He can only talk himself into potential trouble with all three suitors.
If he is truly undecided and staying in Oxford is in the mix, and he wants to lower the temperature and maintain peace with his current and possibly future employers in Oxford, it makes sense to go on ESPN--with strict topic guidelines--and recenter the discussion on the Ole Miss football season ahead.
My take: he is open to leaving from a career standpoint, but he is willing to stay in Oxford as well. He is concerned about his family and what they want. He has no interest in playing games--open trips for his family to potential destinations, his agent gathering every suitors' best offer and giving Ole Miss the option to match, nothing to hide. He and his family will arrive at a decision together.

"Sassy"? Good Lord.
I can say this because I'm a Masshole: Brian Kelly is, by far, one of the best behaved Massholes on this or any other planet. He only goes full Masshole on the sidelines when somebody does something stupid. So he yells at a quarterback once in a while. It's not like he's taking a swing at his own son inside a Dunkin or clocking somebody with a tire iron at a wake.
He's like a Boston choir boy, this one. The southerners think he's Attila the Hun.
