I’d guess cowan now. I was hoping to see Noot, but his outing today, even if it was only one batter, might’ve ruined that.

ETA It could be Williams. He didn’t get the ball this weekend and they stretched him in the preseason.

Pitching is starting to dial in

3 runs allowed over the whole weekend is great to see. Especially Schmidt’s outing today. No walks over 7.1 is a massive improvement from where he was last year.

All the people who don’t watch baseball worried about hitting is overshadowing our pitching coming around. While I’m concerned about our offensive output lately, that is easier to improve than pitching.

I just don’t want people to gloss over what this pitching staff is starting to shape up to
This is true. Guidry’s bulldog mentality make him great out of the pen. If he started with that same mean streak, he might over do it early and empty the tank

Same could be said for Casan but I’m not giving up on him as a starter yet
No but you can get the DADS and CJJ wouldn’t admit that to the media
Jared Poche. For throwing 88, he was nails on Friday night from the left side

4 year starter too
What was the story with OU last night? Threw mid week arms or just came out flat? Or both?

And do they bounce back tonight?
Along with 4 other ranked teams. Yesterday is proof that everyone needs to chill tf out

Garret Edwards is a good one to name. Was having a top notch season out of the pen before going down to TJ

Him and Shores were our 2 best relievers that year and both got bit by the TJ bug. That '23 team won it all and there was so much more pitching potential sidelined due to injury

Javi's got dirt on Woodward, Ausberry, and all future ADs. We're gonna need him to die to rid him of this program

Noot looked downright dominant. I'd expect him to get the midweek starts moving forward. He was who I expected yesterday

Sheerin was great as well

Paz looked amazing until the middle of the 2nd

Everyone needs to chill out. This will work itself out.

FIVE ranked teams lost last night. FOUR SEC teams lost last night

shite happens. Only a problem when it continues to happen

I think Noot is trying to prove a point about not getting n the nod start tonight

Jay might burn the whole bullpen and bullpen catchers tn until he finds someone to throw strikes

Someone sparked that thread back up when they shouldn’t have lol

Jay’s trying to give Pearson every chance he can even though Braun’s been hot
Even so, 14-2 in the 3rd is brutal

FD seems to void from what I can find and DK isn't offering odds on the game

Vandy either has a tough matchup as well or Kentucky just played down the Evansville's level. TBD I guess

Top end Starter from McNeese

Posted by Glizzy_gang on 2/24/26 at 3:42 pm
I could be a few years off, but didn't McNeese recently have a guy that was top 10 or so in the nation in ERA? Maybe last year or year before? I guess I'm wondering if he's still on the team, transferred, or got drafted.

Other than that, doesn't anyone know what McNeese's outlook for baseball is this year?

ETA google seems to think it's Grant Rogers who has drafted in '23 and had a 1.82 ERA that year, but there ain't much else to the search
You should think less then lol. This guy will get a pay day real soon. Coming to school doesn't apply to guys of his caliber. Odds are they make it to the bigs in 2 years and then gets a contract 2-3 years after that.

Everyone else not on that level though? School is the better option

Yes but highly unlikely that it goes through
