Sacramento State.

I was having some concerns going into that series, having already lost 3 midweeks, but at the same time they’re midweeks.

Losing that series the way we did, not being able to hit anything at all in those Sat and Sun games, letting the Sunday starter have the game of his life in what I’m sure Sac State planned to be a Johnny Wholestaff game, was a new level of awful. Sac State isn’t a good team, at all. 16-22 overall, 183 RPI

Very late on this but it’s a BlueCross BlueShield ad. Dude got severe burns on his face cause he was cooking okra for his wife and the flame ignited in his face

I don’t even eat fried okra that’s the funny story!

As a radio producer for the games I know allllll the commercials
If this series indeed goes down as a sweep, we’ll be 6-9 in the SEC. The magic number seems to be 13 SEC wins in the regular season. That would mean going 7-8 in the second half of SEC play. That would mean either winning 2 series 2-1 or sweeping 1 series, while avoiding getting swept again.

However, with as many bad non-conference losses as we have (5. FIVE!!! home non-conference losses to teams outside the RPI top 150) that will keep our RPI down enough to the point where Hoover may become very important to making a regional, even with 13 regular season SEC wins. whether that comes through winning 2 or 3 games at the Met or having to win the entire thing.

re: I hate the DH

Cubs fan here, was a fan before the universal DH so I saw a lot of pitchers hitting. Was it entertaining in ways, for sure. Moments like Colon, Bumgarner could hit, Kerry Wood HR, I was also at a Braves game where Max Scherzer got a big hit off the bench in extra innings. Loved the World Series and interleague games in this way. 2016 got to see Schwarber DH for the Cubs in Cleveland, and then in Wrigley had to see Cleveland pitchers bat when they had hardly done it all year. Made the substitutions late in the game very interesting.

But in between all that, there was A LOT of uncompetitive ABs by pitchers. Can’t tell you how many guys I would see come up to the plate with like a .071 BA. If there were runners on they would be almost guaranteed to bunt. So many strikeouts looking by guys who were just up there trying not to get hurt.
Potgeiter is the Anthony Richardson of golf

Physically gifted and can leverage those talents, but severely lacking in the other important areas
Made 33 FanDuel DFS lineups. My best one so far has Reed, Fleetwood, and Burns, Burns at 3.5% ownership

Buttt it also has Cam Young at 4 over
I really want to like UCLA baseball, what they’re doing is incredible. 29-2 against a pretty strong schedule, haven’t lost since February. Wire to wire number 1 in the polls and number 1 in RPI

But if they win it all the Big Ten nut huggers will never let us Southerners hear the end of it. I don’t mean this in a disrespectful way but I’d sooner consider UCLA baseball a Big West program than I would a Big Ten program. No way they actually wanted to be a part of Big Ten baseball, football forced them to be there.
You still see it in MLB…because who cares about getting suspended for a few games when you play 162. College doesn’t have that luxury. Most of these guys don’t have pro ball to fall back on. Why would you want to be suspended for important games?

Coastal Carolina coach decided to swing his dick around in the finals last year and focused more on “standing up for himself” against the ump than winning the ballgame. And all it did was get him run out of the game and left his players high and dry without a leader, in a must-win game where they were facing adversity that they hadn’t faced in two months.

Governor Jeff Landry reelection

With Governor Landry pulling off the Kiffin and Wade hires, has he locked up reelection regardless of what he does from a political standpoint? (Assuming Wade and Kiffin win)

It seems like he is pretty widely hated from a governing standpoint, but LSU sports is sacred in this state. Genuinely what other selling points does he have besides “I got us Kiffin and Wade?” Will he even need any other selling points?

TALK YO SHITE BRUCE PEARL!!

Posted by YoungSteele830 on 3/21/26 at 9:07 pm

The NET isn’t “rigged for the SEC” like the Twitter crybabies say. It’s full of SEC teams at the top because this is the best damn conference in the land.

Miami Ohio blown out by 5th best SEC team. Texas is the 10th best SEC team, first round exits in the SECT and yet they’re going on a Cinderella run. How much more do we need to see to admit that Bruce Pearl was right about everything?
BRUCE PEARL WAS RIGHT ABOUT EVERYTHING!!

Auburn lost by 18 in 2 games combined against Tennessee. Miami lost by 22 today.

Miami completely scammed us all. Totally gamed the system, beat up on nothing but garbage teams all year and hid behind an absolute farce of a W-L record and a mob of Twitter crybabies. Essentially forcing the committee to put them in because it would’ve been a PR nightmare for the NCAA if they didn’t.

Who you play matters!! SOS matters, advanced metrics matter!! W-L record doesn’t tell you much. Auburn actually had several quality wins.
I think the whole Bruce Pearl stuff is fake outrage just because it’s the big bad SEC. And oh by the way the SEC already has 2 wins as double digit seeds in the NCAAT, so maybe Pearl was right. Auburn definitely deserved it over SMU that’s for sure.

Pearl was only doing what everybody else would’ve done in that scenario. When it’s selection time literally every bubble team politicks to the committee and makes the sales pitch, but it’s only a problem when the big bad SEC does it.
We get it, the big bad SEC and Greg Sankey are always going out of their way to keep poor little High Point and little ol Miami down. We all see that you have a Napoleon complex and it’s not a good look on you at all. He’s talking tough and overcompensating to try to convince everyone that they belong. Just let the play on the court do the talking.

Reminds me of Coastal baseball last year vs LSU, classless remarks in the press conference, and then the coach got himself ejected in the first inning because he was more worried about winning the dick measuring contest with the ump than he was about winning the ballgame.

There’s a difference between playing the underdog card and playing the victim card. Nobody likes a whiner, easy way to destroy any credibility you earned through this win.

As a La Tech fan I hope that if we ever win a March Madness game or go to Omaha we show class and act like we’ve been there before unlike these guys.
This team has made a regional and was playing their best at the right time. Went on an SECT heater in ‘24 when we needed it. Went on the road as a 2 seed in a regional both years and pushed the host teams to the limit in winner-take-all games.

We don’t know exactly what lies ahead. May be more frustrations and tough weekends on the way. Maybe lose another midweek or two. But 13 SEC regular season wins will be enough, as long as we don’t lose like 5 more midweeks. We can lose SIX more series 1-2 and still make regionals, as long as we win three series 2-1. Do that and we’ll be the 2/3 seed that NOBODY wants to play in regionals.

Yes, this weekend wasn’t good, and Sac State weekend was even worse, but it’s going to take a lot more losses for me to throw in the towel on this team.
Haven’t done my bracket yet but I’ll have Duke as my champion. Duke’s overdue for a natty, it’s been 11 years. Had a tough Final Four loss in 2022 and also last year. They look like a machine right now. Scheyer proving he’s a great coach himself, it wasn’t all Flagg last year. I honestly think Scheyer is underrated as a coach
It’s never been the 68 best teams. Like 20 of the autobid teams come from outside the top 68. I’d definitely say Miami is one of the best 68 teams but there’s not enough room for the best 68 AND every autobid team.
That is incredibly damning, at this point I think it’s legit 50-50. If they are in I think it will be as a First Four team playing on Tues or Wed in the play-ins.

Had they lost in the championship, I think they’d be safely in. But a first round loss to a 15-15, 7-11 in a weak MAC UMass at 11AM on a Thursday is an awful, awful look. UMass was outside the NET top 200!!! Miami was ranked 53 in the NET going into today, that’s already really low for a bubble team, and will drop more with this loss, haven’t seen updated rankings yet.

They also weren’t even favored to win the MAC tournament going in. Vegas gave Akron better odds. They tried to tell us that Miami wasn’t all that…

If they do make it in they just might be
the worst at large team of all time.
It’s not that small at all. In fact it seems pretty normal. It’s a little short down the line in right, sure, but the alleys are both normal sizes as is center field. And in fact it’s really deep in left. 350 down the line in left, that’s deep. It’s 314 down RF line. Not small just unbalanced
