re: Obesity is a choice

Millions of Americans could probably lose 50 lbs or more simply cutting out soft drinks and reserving drinking alcohol for the weekends.

It’s very hard to be cut and lean and muscular and have visible abs.

It is relatively easy not to be obese, and it’s past time for it to be said.

We have been too easy on people.

It was considered misinformation that eating habits were the main driver of obesity until oopsy a drug that killed hunger was popularized, and people started losing half their body weight

There is no doubt that we are psychologically weaker and more fragile than prior generations, and it certainly plays a role in our obesity epidemic, along with the proliferation of unhealthy foods.

It starts in childhood. The best way to not be fat is to never be fat.

We really need to be attacking childhood obesity ferociously, and that will impact adult obesity down the line.

Even more than that, he is promised a role in the administration.

Much better than a reluctant endorsement.

Is there any way to exert pressure on one’s filthy neighbor?

She’s a crackpot, not a crackhead

We would love to relocate her but do not know how to make that happen.

Animal control did make her get rid of a duck she decided to try to domesticate, though.

Possums and Fleas

This city boy has a question for any possum experts on this board.

I have no issue with possums and know that in many ways they can be kind neighbors, but our family has no pets and has had multiple indoor flea infestations this summer.

We just found out that a family of possums is living under the house.

Is it reasonable to assume that they could be the source? Our flea outbreaks tend to start in one of the bathrooms.

I must mention that we also have a crackpot hippie neighbor with multiple untreated dogs and a chicken coop.

And we have had issues with tree rats in the attic (hopefully they are all gone).

I have gotten some pushback for wanting to trap and relocate the possums.

It seems to me worth a try, though. I have read online that they can be a flea reservoir.

What say you?
