LSU season ticket holder here, grew up in Louisiana and lifelong fan.
Undergrad at University of South Florida and grad school at Indiana.

re: Should LSU (or the SEC as a whole) have an ice hockey team?

We lived in Tampa for 10 years and became big Lightning fans. Been to many games, including Stanley Cup series, and hockey is the most exciting sport beyond football.
Then lived in Cincinnati for 14 years and our son is a senior at Miami of Ohio. Huge hockey school and the games are a blast!

I don't see any more dynasties with NIL and the portal with having to recruit your team every year. Any program can stock up and load a team with money and the appetite to spend.
We lived in Cincinnati and went to the Peach Bowl in Atlanta, but watched this game with several of our neighbors who were Bengals fans and excited with a hunch JB would soon be their quarterback.

7-10 more receivers?

Clark is a 4.51 40 runner. Can't find Longstreets 40 yet but I doubt its SIGNIFICANTLY faster. ETA: Longstreets best is 4.52 with average at 4.58
Do we know if Nuss was a sub-5?

So, you think that the money spent on all the other pieces and the clear discouraging other qbs fo come is worth risking on a guy thars not played
For the potential upside? YES!

If you can't answer these things.. then expecting to win a championship at LSU is delusional. You guys are Garrett Nussmiering again. You're getting desperate and making BS Up to make yourself feel better. LSU needs a proven commodity.
I didn’t say I am expecting a championship and what BS did I make up? My OPINION is Kiffin could have this kid ready to play and it’s worth the risk. The only “proven commodity” out there has a bad foot and may not be ready to take snaps until fall. I throw my chips in on Longstreet.

Did I say dynamic passer?

Then who is your number two quarterback genius?
Well, fella. Your post makes no sense. We have no QB and my posts suggest who I prefer to be the starter. Why do I care who the number 2 will be if we don’t have a QB1? You’re worried about the backup because you’re advocating for the QB who may not be ready due to injury. That’s some logic right there.

Ok. Probably could have included this message stating your preference in one of the other 70 relevant threads.

Well, it was intended for the message board world, not the important folks that need to take it seriously.

Bring him in as QB1, he goes through spring and fall camp, then starts against Clemson.
No doubt he is a dynamic playmaker and Kiffin’s track record with green QBs instills confidence. Geaux get ‘em.

Agree 100%. Bring him in as QB1 and he has spring/fall camp to prep for the start against Clemson.
Confident Kiffin would have him ready and sounds like the dynamic talent is there.

re: If Indiana were in the SEC how would they do?

Easily 12-0. The SEC is not the “SEC”.

Indiana played a soft, soft, soft schedule
So did most teams in the SEC. Our conference sucked this year.
re: Mark Cuban, Phil Knight, Larry Ellison…who can be LSU’s billionaire sugar daddy?
Posted by Tdubs7 on 1/10/26 at 8:06 am to TigerFan244
Indiana also has the largest living alumni base in the country and tons of wealthy boosters, especially from their Kelly School of Business. They are committed to providing the athletic resources to win and are here to stay.

They referred him to their stepchild Toyota dealership and he ended up driving a Camry or Rav 4 (can’t confirm which at this point) to meet Leavitt.
Have we seen a paradigm shift in the SEC is the best, nobody plays our schedule, crowd?
Posted by Tdubs7 on 1/10/26 at 7:08 am
Others play a cupcake schedule
It will be Georgia and Bama for the Natty (book it)
It just means more, etc.
No SEC Natty in 3 years and NIL changed the game. Established big dogs and up-and-comers in other conferences have MONEY (more money in many cases). Half the SEC was absolutely garbage this year.
This seems to be the new norm so, do our SEC homers see the change or will they be back to pumping their chests with the usual banter next year?
