Interests converged at the right time. Assholes all over the world wanted to buy oil with their own money. The US built this world and will continue to build it, but your are playing by our rules and paying with our money. The economy in Red areas are booming right now. If you live in a Blue area, it may be different. I run a business in Red Alabama and I just had the best February ever.

Bush played a long term money game for his friends. However, the thorn in his side was all of the meddling of Iran. They provided the IEDs, the suicide bombers, and their special forces to engage our soldiers. Most US deaths in Iraq were at the hands of Iran.
