I oftentimes see teacher friends and acquaintances make social media posts advocating getting rid of standardized testing in schools. It seems like a way to avoid accountability to me, but I have never asked around about the flip side of that coin, meaning is there is a legitimate argument to scrap the testing. So, is my gut feeling saying these teachers are slackards correct, or is it a both ways thing? Do some actually advocate it because they could legitimately teach better without having to spend so much time preparing kids specifically for testing?

THANK YOU. Furthermore, if I would have put “Woman shot in Decatur” and “students in Riverdale” it would have been like speaking French to 90% of this board, understandingly so. The only people looking at the trees on this instead of the forest are metro Atlantans, understandingly so, because those designations matter to them in day to day life.

I’m unfamiliar with the circumstances but it seems to be an assault charge for pointing his service weapon at a subject during the performance of his duties so it sounds like complete and utter bullshite. I probably pointed my pistol or long gun at violators over 100 times in my career…and it was lawful for me to do so.
