It's not just Frontline combat vets. Medical personelle also go through some serious shite in those hospitals and transports.
When i got flown out of Iraq on the way to Germany they had surgeons guts deep in guys mid flight.

It would hurt for a while. Eventually if the 20% was able to be made up elsewhere the market should stabilize like before. Then you run into the crash if, and when it opens back up.
