April 13, 2026 – Online sports betting is growing as a facet of American life, with 27% of Americans and half of men ages 18-49 (52%) saying they have an active account with an online sportsbook such as DraftKings, Caesars, FanDuel, or BetMGM, according to a new survey of United States residents released today by the Siena Research Institute (SRI) and St. Bonaventure University’s Jandoli School of Communication. This trend is up from 22% of Americans in 2025 and 19% in 2024, showing a slow but steady increase in online sports betting interest over the past few years of the survey. A third of Americans (33%) say they have opened an account at least once.
I used to work on offshore oil rigs. The generators that power them are the size of a small house. One day a technician forgot to lock out;tag out while he was checking why we were having voltage drops on the pump floor. A supervisor came by and saw the third generator was off and decided to fire it up. I was in the room trying to find a replacement pump sensor when it clicked. Boom pop zap. I saw a human explode, turn to plasma, then carbonize. The sound and and smell never leave.

My sister is deciding between EDS and T.S. Cooley for her son's school next year.

He tested for Cooley and got in.

Usually, the choice between a private school and public school in Louisiana is pretty easy, but apparently Cooley is a really good public school that is very STEM based.

Would like to hear opinions.

If education is the only factor, which is best?
Meaning they're better off now than 10 years ago.

Youngsville, Metairie, whatever the north Louisiana equivalent not included

Rolex has just opened a trade school for watchmakers in Texas. Already competition is as fierce as Harvard’s, and students could walk out with $95,000 jobs.

Kind of shows you how bad American colleges have failed. They take in taxpayer dollars, hire endless administrative staff, and prioritize cash loaded international students. And the students come out with no jobs and no hands on experience in their field.

Eh, my buddy used him when DeRosier was DA and he lost his case.

From what I heard he's a good lawyer but people overrate him.

The guy went to Southern fricking Law School.

Over/Under 1.5 years in jail?

If the genders were swapped I'd do 10.5 lol
Over the years who would y'all say most of this board wanted to pick in the 1st round.

I think Tyler Warren was last years and Caleb Downs is this years.

What films best encapsulates what the 90s were all about? fashion, music, design, technology, news, mood, atmosphere, etc?

Not a fan of it but this was the first to come to mind

Was arguing with someone about this. Imagine you got people from both companies on here.
Oters who are 50+, what is a 'harmless' habit you had in your 20s that ended up ruining your health or finances later in life?
Here's 2007 National Championship Quarterback Matt Flynn's wife.

Gimme 4 better than this.
For me it's Djokovic vs. Alcaraz.

Despite Djokovic being 16 years older than Alcaraz they always put on a good show up until the past year.

For comparison- Djokovic and Alcaraz are further apart in age than Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant were.

Any rivalries come to mind?
What failure/not doing something was the biggest reason they regressed that wasn't the state government's fault. (No Huey Long or Edwin Edwards)

Can be election of a mayor, not alluring or keeping a well sought after business, or something ban worthy like section 8 housing.

What was the biggest factor that was controlled by the city that led to it's downfall?

Educate me.

New Orleans: ?
Baton Rouge: No loop?
Shreveport: ?
Lafayette: Not diversifying from O&G?
Lake Charles: Not doing gambling earlier?

*Metairie is technically top 5 but I'm not counting it bc it's a suburb and I'm from LC

Think this is a good topic and I feel like starting shite.

Happy New Year.
