That’s some mental gymnastics to suggest he’s teaching people to make suicide drones because he’s (rightfully) dumbfounded why the Taliban is still using suicide bombers when drones are so readily available.

You mean 99% against Iraq and Syria following ISIS’s takeover, thanks to neocon’s (now known as MAGA) failed war in Iraq, which led to AQ in Iraq/ISIS taking over large swaths of the region? He certainly did, but that was still a continuation and direct consequence of Bush/MAGA’s failed war in Iraq. And yes, I’ll throw in the Dems too that authorized military force in the region.

That’s my point, unless a new government emerges with broad public support that dismantles the nuclear program and supports normal relations with the US & Israel, I don’t see anything changing. Iran has a deep bench of Islamic fundamentalists and other hardliners. If the IRGC and Basij militia remain committed to keeping the regime in power, I don’t see how we aren’t back in conflict with Iran in 5-10 years, if not sooner.

Only smart if it’s produces long lasting results. If the regime survives this conflict, and it probably will, I’m not sure what the US gains for spending tens of billions dollars and depleting our interceptors just be back in this situation a few years down the line.
And that’s assuming the state doesn’t collapse into yet another civil war.
