There's an old saying in Tennessee. I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee, that says, 'Fool me once, shame on... shame on you. Fool me, you can't get fooled again
I laughed at that thinking about Dubya.

WTF is wrong with you?
I have never heard anyone deny this before. I feel like I am in the twilight zone. As another poster said, the only ‘mistake’ Israel made is that they didn’t sink the ship as planned.

they'd be better off coming to an agreement where both sides just call it an accident and move on.
Revisionist history right there. They fired from air and sea for two hours all the while seeing the giant American flag in international waters. The ‘snuck up on them shite’ is made up.

Document this, show links or GTFO.
Wait, what? This REALLY did happen. It’s well documented history as well as the many survivors that have made this known for 50+ years. Israel even gave some compensation to families.

They have hookers from everywhere there
Is this something you googled, or….

I wouldn't be caught dead visiting the middle east.
Well, it is a way to end up dead though.
Wait, ain’t they harming the shite out of each other?

Assembly of Experts
Indeed.

Russia is struggling in their own backyard
To be fair, Russia is not just fighting Ukraine.

The nuclear threat is the whole reason we are there.
Did I mishear that? Didn’t he say something about Israel using nuclear weapons?

Their problem not ours
Our government has this way though….

Also, despite published reports, he in fact, DID NOT bring sexy back.

Split the country into states
Looks good on paper but I could see a lot of Hatfield/McCoy scenarios in their future.

Gets us possibly out of a conflict in the Middle East every decade.
It seems like we want to be IN these.
And BTW, if they want billionaires to pay their ‘fair’ share (along with everyone else) go to a consumption tax.

fricking the middle class
Hell, they think that is being “rich”, though their crusty asses are worths millions while drawing a similar salary.

I'd recommend a parliamentary democracy form of government
I thought that also and it would be great ideal in a perfect world, but they have always had a strong central figurehead/ruler. IMO, they’d maybe function better under some type of democratic monarchy like other ME countries but without so much power given to the president. With that said, that executive power sometimes exists because there is such a wide variety of cultural/political differences in their representatives. Iran would absolutely have a shite ton of those differences.

It’s amazing how little people in the country understand how controlled we are by Israel, and the Jews.
Careful, EO 14188 says these words should be considered a possible anti-Semitic civil rights violation.
A regime has been taken out. A smooth transition is possible but not probable. The fly in the ointment was always going to be the size of the remnant of radicalism that remains, especially among the military, and then regime ‘loyalists’. That fact alone should give anyone pause about how ‘quickly’ this ends.

If the goal is to eradicate it all with air strikes then this will probably be very protracted. If a secular or even a devout leader rises to power it may be years before there is a semblance of stability. The rebuilding of government infrastructure (both systemic and physical) and establishment of a loyal military is not an overnight endeavor, not to mention any timeline on easing of sanctions. It would be idyllic if an armed populace rises up and stamps out the enemy. The absence of that however is historically called civil war.

The euphoria of the moment concerning freedom is going to meet the reality that this a ‘chance’, not a guarantee. The best hope is for enough normalcy in whatever system of government is installed as to restore diplomatic relations. Also, WHATEVER the ‘new’ government looks like, they are going to want to be armed. To what degree becomes the continuing question.

The original plan was to strike the night following the initial bombing that killed Iranian leadership.
Strikes began on the Saturday of Shabbat Zachor. I would imagine that was going to be the case regardless.
quote:

Yeah, Iran and Israel seem to be at war.
I think there are entrenched sides to this debate about the ‘war’ label that has to do with President Trump’s previous statements about war.
Some do not want to concede ‘war’ because of those words. Others want to use it as a ‘gotcha’.

Whether we have ‘made war’, engaged in ‘acts of war’, have taken ‘military action’, or have or haven’t ‘declared war’ is irrelevant. The present situation and its success going forward is all that matters at this point IMO. All political jousting aside, would you agree with that?
