On passing game against OM -"We were setting almost every play for a particular player." - BK

So you are telling me that our coaching staff is calling plays with only one read for our QB who was a Heisman favorite coming into this year? Did I misinterpret that? Gotta let Nuss go through proper progressions that we saw last year and that very senior QB should be capable of.

That was right after he answered a question about Alex Atkins and Joe Sloan's in-game collaboration and BK said he sees signs of the run game coming together. I am failing to see what BK sees in the run game coming together. Until Sloan makes a commitment to run the football more than a few times in the first half, I won't believe we are close. And if we can't run the football, maybe try some different schemes. I never thought I would say this after the Les Miles era, but give me a toss dive on the first play of the game and let's see what happens lmao

But if you are running pass plays looking for just one receiver, refusing to run the football, and allowing the defense to drop 7-8 in coverage on a consistent basis without punishing them with the run, this offense is going to continue to be stagnant without much hope for improvement.

The lack of willingness to run the ball is fatal. Especially after BK spent the whole week leading up to OM talking about how we needed to be committed to running the ball. After Cauble's question post Florida, BK was the one to point out we had a 50-yard run late in that game (at a point when the game had already been decided - lame excuse if you ask me). But still, that run was with Pyburn in at fullback and showed that maybe there was a route to run the ball that way. Anything to develop some semblance of a rushing attack.

BK also talked numerous times last week that we could see more under center runs like that one. Not once did we run under center against Ole Miss.

Then you get to OM and they spend the entire game rushing three and dropping 8. BK said on Finebaum that's on him for not preparing his team to see that. BS. Tulane - TULANE - ran the ball for nearly 180 yards against the same OM defense. So fine BK, you did not prepare your team to see a three man front. They were daring you to run, coach. And when they dare you to run you know what you do, you take the yards. You rush more than two times with a RB in the first half. And once you have some success on the ground, OM is forced to play with more guys in the box and that opens up some space for the passing attack. Isn't he the one that always talks about complimentary football? So maybe you're right BK, you did not prepare the team. But it has much less to do with how you prepared them throughout the week leading up to OM and more so how you did not prepare this team to have any sort of rushing attack going all the way back the Spring Ball after rushing was a major weakness last year too.

Joe Sloan has no sense on when to push what buttons as a play caller. He especially does not know what run plays to call ever. And other than having a heisman QB as quick as lightning, Brad Davis has not developed an OLine that can establish a consistent rushing attack in four years under BK.
Something to consider in regards to women's basketball budget from this year going forward. The past season was the first season women's hoops got the same 'units' for NCAA Tournament games as the men. The men's $ figure still surpasses the women's, but it is a step towards a better ability to make money on the women's side. The $ from the women's tournament is set to grow each year. LSU got four units this year. It's really a shame that it just went into effect in 2025. If that were there all along, Mulkey would have 2 units from 2022, 6 from 2023 and I would assume something additional for winning the natty, 4 from 2024 and 4 from 2025.
3rd and 17 at Texas. Any previous LSU team runs there and relies on its defense to try to get a stop and win the game. That was when we knew that team was made of stone cold killers and it was the first big moment of a season full of big moments by the greatest team in college football history.
