Any luck on getting that Helix 9” dialed in and reading the bottom correctly?
Yes sir anytime…let me know what Hummingbird says I am genuinely curious now that none of that worked. Good luck on the water this weekend…I hope you rip some lips and cross their eyeballs!!
That’s a normal thing…I’ve done it numerous times while trying to figure them out. Sometimes you get stuff so out of whack it is easier to just start back from factory. I will say make you sure take notes going through process and write the results of any changes you have made. It makes the time aspect of getting it all dialed in reduce vastly.
LMAO!! Yes sir my dad always told me if you’re going to do a thing you make sure you do it right. When I get into something I tend to go all the way in and completely nerd out on it. Probably the reason all my hobbies revolve around fins, feathers, and fur…I don’t have time for anything else. My little brother was also way early on the FFS game and I never got in to it and the first time he out fished me I took it very personally and devoted myself to learn my electronics and have them completely dialed in as that was the only way I was going to beat him after he got that “underwater camera” he had installed on his bow.
So I’d check 2 other things and then check the transducer. Make sure depth offset is set to 0.0’. Should be Menu > Sonar > Depth Offset. Then make sure the bottom isn’t locked in. Should be Menu > Sonar > Depth Range and make sure it is set to auto. If that doesn’t fix it I’d test the transducer. You can fill up a 5 gallon bucket with water and put the transducer in it and see what it reads. If you all your connections and settings are good and it still reads 1.9’ I’d say you have a bad transducer.
I grew up on the MS gulf coast and always salt water fished. When I moved to NW Arkansas I had no desire to fish freshwater until a guy I worked with took me bass fishing and in my young mind I thought there isn’t a thing you can show me about fishing that I already don’t know…how wrong I was. I got hooked on smallmouth and the first time I won $10k in a big bass tournament at Table Rock Lake I was hooked for life…you can’t find peace and adrenaline like that in a bottle or a pill!! When it gets ahold of you it just does and I haven’t found anything that can break that addiction.
Just make sure you register it or your warranty drops from 10 years to 5 years…I’m a big Rheem fan but that was back when they were made in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Can’t really speak on these newer made in Mexico units.
I have a Helix 9 on my bow and had the same issue when I first installed it. It’s more than likely in demo mode to get it out do the following:

1. Power the unit ON
2. Press the MENU button twice
3. Use the RIGHT cursor to scroll to the Setup tab
4. Scroll down to Demo Mode (or Simulator depending on software version).
5. Change it to OFF.
6. Exit the menu.

If that doesn’t work double check your transducer connection and battery connections and make sure it’s stable. They will default to demo mode if the transducer isn’t hooked up, have an inconsistent power source, or cannot detect a sonar signal. Hope this helps.
Will be watching a stream about econ. and LSU and how they are related…until it gets shutdown.
I did A/C repair in college and cleaned up and replaced the the electrical components of two Made in Fort Smith, Arkansas Rheem units that were made in the early 90’s and we cleaned up after Katrina. This was for a family friend and I was recently in town for a funeral and was asked if I could look at them…those old R22 units are still running strong and holding freon. The new high pressure stuff is garbage. If you have a made in America Rheem or Rudd that runs off of R22 hold on to it. Don’t let some shifter talk you into swapping it out.
Saw one on I-45 right around the Teague exit a couple of weeks ago when I was headed back from Houston free grazing right on the side of the interstate definitely an Aoudad and a pretty big one.
“Not even Epstein wanted to be near Miss St”

Makes my engineering degrees from there even more valuable now!!
Other than to check the box of satisfying the Rooney Rule there is no logical explanation for this.
Because they bent the knee to Chavez after nationalization and gave the state-run oil company (PDVSA) a 60% controlling interest…Exxon and ConocoPhillips told Chavez to eff off and sued. The sanctions placed by the US government allowed Chevron to work on existing projects but couldn’t start any new ventures.
As an ExxonMobil PE I can tell you this is exactly the talk going around Campus. Like Darren said we’ve been burned twice.
I’ve personally never had that happen, but if I had a weapon that has now done this twice I’d be getting rid of it. Safety on or off it should not discharge just dropping the magazine out. Only reason it should fire is if the trigger was pulled.
Yeah I’d assume it’s somewhat of a similar setup on these new ones just with a solenoid or something controlling the lever. We used to just count the clicks. If it was stuck in park neutral was two clicks back. It makes sense that now you need someone to tell you what gear it’s in by looking at the dash because of electronics.
There should be a lever on the side of the transmission that a cable connects to that you can manually manipulate if you pull the cable off just make sure wheels are chocked or a friend is on the brake pedal. Easy to do with the older auto transmissions but not sure on these new knob turners.

The Shoot Shovel and Shut-up method has worked well for us.
I disagree Kelly is definitely a guru at losing big games and underperforming expectations.
